  • Skill Mods

Its been a while since I buckled down and did any high end trade skills.

I am preparing to do BFT combines and am at 229 skill.

    1) Has anything changed that suggests that skill mods stack. Such as a geerlok and a trophy.

    2) Is 243 skill plus 5 percent geerlok still considered the same skill as 250 plus geerlok? (ie a 253~255 skill max). SHOUD I expect the same level of success at 242 skill moded to 253+ as I would expect from 250 skill moded to 253+?

While I am at it. Regardless of what we suggest as the max skill, what is the normal success rate I should expect on BFTs.

Thanks all in advance of your responses

No. I'm sorta confused as to why you think they might? Was there some dev statement or something I missed? I haven't heard anything about any change in this regard, and I'd be shocked if it did.

The usual number batted about as a hard cap is 252 from what I've seen. From there it's just math.

My general belief is that it's about a 50% failure rate. Luck of course is fickle but over time that's roughly what it seems to be, given our limited ability to measure it.

Is there a 10% fletching mod item?

Way back inthe day when I started doing BFTs industrially...
I started at 235 skill, failed 3 out of 3 attempts...
came back at 241 skill, failed 3 out of 4 attempts...
started hardcore at 247, where I started at the 50% success rate, although one time I went 2 for 9

At all times I had a 5% mod item, altho after 242 I had my GM tool...

As for stacking, there was a long thread on the old ezboard fletching section about this, and the quick an easy answer is no. They don't stack.
