  • Any money to be made at skill 200?

A question for those of you that regularly make fletching items for sale: is there any profit to be made at skill 200? Is there anything that can be made with any reliability at/near 200 that actually sells for enough (and in enough quantity) to make the effort worthwhile?

I'm not looking to make huge amounts of cash off of this, I just skilled up to 196 on a lark the other day (yes, I'm obsessive, why do you ask?) and I was wondering if there was any use to which I could put my new-found skill to recoup some of the cash I dumped into it...

A lot depends on the customer base on your server. Profit can be made on the higher damage arrows for rangers who have trueshot but not EQ yet. Nightmare bows are still good money makers, but the price has dropped way down from what it was a month ago. Check out what is for sale in the bazaar in terms of arrows and bows. If you are in a big guild offer to make arrows for raids at a 'slite' markup from cost, its very easy to burn through severl hundred arrows in one playing session.

At 200 skill the best bow you can make with a correct succes rate is the compound darkwood. Depending on the server you are in, it could be a correct income source or a complete waste of time if you are not sure to succeed almost each combine.

Crafted bows indeed seldom or never sell for more than twice the components cost, and most of the time for less.

You can focus on arrows, don't expect to sell them high though. I believe there is a need for all kind of arrows, not only the High Dam ones. People also need cheap arrows.

If you are a wood elf, make Blessed Faydark Stinger, they sell well as they are both cheap and good for low to mid level characters. (250 to 300pp on Karana).

And if you have a means to get free components, you may try Nightmare Bows, providing you possess a Geerlok. (don't even try if you don't).
