  • Skilling up - revisited

OK, since there's a new board I don't have much old posts to look through for the answer to this, so thought I'd throw the question out there.

Has anyone found any new ways to skill up post 231+ skill? Darkwood/shadewood and acrylia arrows were the only way before, and for me that is not an option. I am lvl 62 and do not have the time to spare to farm acrylia and do not have the cash to make darkwoods or shadewoods.

So I guess the question is going to rest on whether any new PoP arrows have been discovered? Have we found any kind of PoP arrows yet? Or any PoP recipes that help fletching besides nightmarewood and are simpler/cheaper to make? I'm sure I know the answer but thought I'd toss this out there.

If you're a wood elf, you can always do cultural bows and arrows. The only other things I can think of are the PoP bows.
There was a PoP arrow/dart recipe floating around, has that been a confirmed combine yet?

Arrow according to recipe is unconfirmed. Darts are confirmed but trivial at 161 =/

Hopefully they'll break fletching when they revisit tradeskills - after their last fix of it the only way you can afford to clear 202 skill is if you've got 50k laying around to burn or have the time to farm 100,000 acrylia drops.

No more EQ for me till they fix the crash bug.

Maybe I was unlucky. 202 - 243 over past two days. took about 5 hours. took 68,000pp. Did not count the combines for darkwood, but my first 41 shadewoods got me no skill ups. By the 110th I had 5. The final 3 took another 80 combines. 190 shadewoods for 8 skill ups. On a positive note, made the trophy first shot.

            68K! ???

I have been lurking in this forum for some time. Im a level 10 Wodd Elf (Fennin Ro server) with Fletching at 142. I know getting to be a GM is going to be expensive but my goodness where did you get 68,000p to begin with? I struggle enough holding on to the 2-300p I have to make and sell arrows to others.

How's he get 68k? Item shedding. YOu get upgrades to equip as you lvl up, and when you get better stuff you sell your old stuff. Naturally the higher lvl you are the more it sells for.

That and on occasion you get to roll on items that sell well for the pure use of selling. Depends on group.

As for skilling up. Since there's no way in hockeysticks I'm going to farm acrylia I've decided that to skill up i'm going to buy small acrylia blocks in bazaar, make the arrows, and put em back up for sale at cost. Once that batch sells i'll repeat.

If it dont sell then i'm not gona do that cuz i wont be able to afford it.

                how to make 68+

Lorthien, I have been playing pretty much non-stop since nov 1999 on E'ci. I have never pl'd or switched characters from one account to another. I have not used these chars to sell in EC or bazaar. Pure play time only. My time. No one else has ever played these chars. No one has ever had access to my account. I have a pair of mules that are not counted here that sell.

                65 Ranger Uuvin : 210 days played
                65 Chanter Shuraz : 140 days played
                60 Rogue Dowwan : 60 days played
                60 Cleric Enjo : 90 days played
                57 Wizard Yyvo : 110 days played
                54 Paladin Mivki : 50 days played

Yes thats 660 days played over the past 3 years 2 months = 1160 days. I average 13+ hours a day playing this game. For the past 3+ years. Yes I have no other life.

Now-a-days people PL characters to 50 in a week or less. People have level 60 characters in under 30 days play time. Yes, it disgusts me sometimes to see how little people know about this game and their class skills - which they are lacking. But, you play this game for fun - or at least I hope you do. Everyone has a different way to enjoy themselves in this game. As long as it does not hurt anyone else, live and let live.

Can 'farm' thousands of platinum in gems in places like Sebilis in a few hours. Places for high amounts of pure plat include Rathe Mountains off the Hill Giants and Everfrost off the Ice Giants. Two other places for large numbers of gem drops are Plane of Growth and Plane of Hate. Planes of Power in certain locations I won't name also drop large quantities of gems. Then there are item drops as well that can be sold. Tradeskill items too. The higher your level or skill, the more opportunities arise.

If you enjoy this game as much as I do, don't worry too much about cash. Get your levels, get your experience. The cash will come.

I go with the acrylia arrows. This is the cheapest route. My skill is up to 235 now. Although my skill is going slow since I don't get the chance to farm for acrylia much and I rarely will buy the bricks, I am getting closer to 250 .

Uuvin, thanks for the words. I do enjoy this game and I guess I am a litle impatient.I was on a huge streak gettin my fletching up to 102 in 2 days(all vendor bought stuff) that I didnt want to stop, but like RL when the cash flow stops so does the fun.

I went from 236 - 250 with the mithril arrows. Took apx 18 stacks of parts, cost apx 15K I think. Did it all with dex maxed at 255 (shammey buffs)

That's a good alternative for woodelves. But the rest of us get the shaft. I hope some PoP arrows appear soon, =/
