Dragon Fin Spikes?

Is there any other way to aquire Dragon Fin Spikes instead of the named dragons from DoN raids?

I need this to finish my Expert Fletching Trophy quest, and this seems crazy to put this in the quest as such a rare drop.

If all else fails, looking to BUY one on Bristlebane...

Drake Wing Bones and Drake-Spikes can be made from drops that come only from those mogo dragons. But, those items themselves can also drop from other more common (i.e. easier) mobs. While you can't make as many arrows from the parts that drop off the drakes, for the trophy, you only need to do one combine of them (as i recall).

On Bristlebane right now, I'm seeing drake wing bones and drake-spikes for sale in the bazaar for less than 2k total. The hard part of this combine is getting the girplan feathers.

Yeah, I have killed a bunch of drakes in Lavaspinner, and received bumpkis for my efforts. (Well, I killed about 5 named, so I have some tribute fodder I guess.) Gonna try some more today.

Any drake in Lavaspinner can drop these, and remember, you Only need One. I spent days there farming for the spikes thinking I needed 10.

Well I have killed at least 60 drakes (easily) and no drops. I am offering 1k pp for a single drake-spikes on my buyer on Druzzil Ro on the off chance someone has one and looks it up.

Killed about 15 girplans in Harbinger's Spire and got my Girplan Feather. *shrug*

Edit: Went back today, into Lavaspinner, cleared all drakes a few more times, and still no drops. I did get a nest drake egg, however. (The only one I've gotten there while farming the spikes.)

Lots of Girplan feathers on the merchant in Kora but I can't find those **** Drake-spikes either:-(

I upped my price to 2500p for a drake-spikes on my buyer (Druzzil Ro). I had a couple of people ask me about them... so maybe I'll eventually get one, heh.

I did a level on my monk there last night, and got no drops. :\ Lavaspinner's seems to have as many drakes as anywhere,... so I think I will keep trying there.

When Sunderock was a hot zone, I found lots of drake wing bones off the npc sellers. So you could check that zone's drakes, too.

Dragon Fin Spikes

Regarding Dragon Fin Spikes, I checked Magelo. The finding is that the outlook is dismal. Here is the report:

Three mobs
Rikkukin the Defender in The Ascent at a 12.5% chance of drop (This is the instanced raid final mob.)
Tsikut in Relic at a 2.74% chance of drop
Ashenback in Relic at a 0.63% chance of drop

I had "luck" in Stillmoon

When I got my endless quiver... i went looking for the good 13/125 arrow.... to zero success... noone had one to give up. So i started fletching to make my own (this was just a few months ago)... the wing bones were pretty easy, girplan feathers were not easy at all (ton of trying for them in woSlaughter and harbringers) eventually i found one... then a week or so later found 7 in the bazaar, woot), the drake-spikes were near impossible... i had one in the bank from past ventures in Stillmoon... so i went back there... i have gotten about one spike per 4 clearings of all the drakes in the zone... so not terrible terrible... but I have about 60 of the nice arrows to sell... first combine i had someone else do... success. the next 8 tries were all successful but one.

My skill is now around 262 base + trophy.

Back when DoN first opened there were tons of drake-spikes but it was almost impossible to get the feathers.Now its just the reverse. U can find feathers on the merchant in Kora but you need a flag to enter that zone.
