  • Been away awhile- what's new for a human Ranger?

Took a 7 month break from EQ, so I don't know what tihngs might have changed or not for fletching.
Fletching for my human ranger (Karana worshipping) is about 150 or so.
Any new recipes for a human ranger? Any good incentives to skill up to over 200 ?

Any fletcher, regardless of race, can make the new planar bows. You need to be able to find the supplies and have a planar fletching kit to do the combine. Most common one is the Nightmare bow. My fletcher has been hovering near GM level (249 currently) for quite some time, so I started making Nightmare bows when I was essentially maxed at skill, and I can tell you they are a lot easier to succeed on than the Blessed Faydark Thunderbolt. (You can't do the latter, anyway, as it's wood elf culteral fletching only). However, if you like to make your own stuff, I would recommend you stick with it. From what I read, you have a decent chance at succeeding on a nightmare in the low 200s skill. Drawbacks are you must be at least level 46 to equip it, most of the ingredients are dropped from PoI and PoN, and you need a 200 ish skill tinker to make your cams for you. In terms of finding the ingredients, you don't have to be able to go to the planes though. I personally forage the grease myself on PoI, but our guild is really too small to do the planes much, so instead I patiently farm the vendors for stuff players have sold. I refuse to pay 1K for cams, when my tinker can make them if I just find the supplies.
