Just a quick question about the fishbone darts. Has anyone been able to sell these in any reasonable quantities? As a throwing weapon they seem to have excellent weight and range, but the celandine required to make them means they cost a little over 1pp per dart. I'm a mid level ranger and am used to cheap arrows, so this seems way too expensive for any real use. In particular considdering this is the price for making them yourself, let alone buying them in the bazaar for double or more. Does anyone have a monk or other non-bow-class character that could lend some insight into the usefullness of these for their class?

    Darts

These are very much sought after by higher level monks and i have made as many as 20 stacks for a single monk at a higher price than "break even". The monks who know i can make them hound me for days until i break down and take time to make some for them. The range is what makes them so awesome for pulling but i do have one complaint about them. When thrown, the dart looks like a bag flying out towards the mob. I wouldn't try to make a living at these since it is somewhat of a niche market and it takes a lot of patience trying to get ahold of the foraged roots (since I am an enchanter) and combining all the ingredients.
But i feel like it can be a reasonable alternative to making arrows to skill up and has the side benefit of raising your fishing skill too. 56 Enchanter wtb planar oak and dragon eggs

The maket in darts is very small, at least on my server. There seem to be less then a half dozen customers. When they buy they tend to buy my entire stock, but recently no one has been buying. Volume is so low that the profit hardly makes the effort worthwhile. I keep darts in stock on my bazzar mule, and in the past few weeks they just have stopped moving at all.

It goes in fits and starts. I keep them on my mule at 5pp each (the break even is actually over 1pp; at a cost of 105pp for a stack of celandine with maxed charisma, I typically get 95 darts. My cleric has a fishing skill of 200, with 5% pole, my ranger has a fletch of 239, with geerlock). When they sell typically someone buys 2 or 3 stacks at a time, but it is not in high demand and they either go the first night out or sit for a couple weeks. Monks love the range for raid pulling, but they ARE pricey. I've never seen anyone else on my server sell them. I've been meaning to fiddle with the price to find out at what point they start selling rapidly; 2pp is not really worth my time, perhaps 3.5pp would be a good price point.

I ran my Wood Elf Ranger over to Shir Val to do the progressive fletching quest just so I could make the Owlbear Feather Darts (Dmg: 12, Dly: 0, Range: 120 yes, that really is a delay of 0) thinking that I could sell them for high level raids, Then I found out that the feathers sell from NPC merchants for 25p each (one for one production) and farming the feathers just isn’t practical for me yet. I'd actually farmed about a half stack of the feathers just to play with my new toy and then tried to sell the darts but I've not moved a one at even 15p each. I had assumed that there just isn't a market for darts but maybe it's just THESE darts.

            Thrown Crits

My rogues have learned the value of keeping both archery and close quarter tosses proficient. As a player, I am a bit miffed they nerfed rusty and summons so they can't be thrown.

I know my tanks can bow crit, my monk hasn't yet, so my guess is they can't. Rogues sure can. Shaman, Druid and Cleric can only toss blunts so stackable & summoned Shattering Hammers are a must!

My Kittys are doing the progressive
            Xakra Tooth Darts too.

Running about the Shar Vahl pit farming Skeletal Grimling Femur's is at best annoying, but if you are there working on any of the other quests offered, then not so bad.

Those darts are only usable by large races if I recall. So nobody who needs them will really use them except maybe a vah shir rogue.

I TOTALLY missed that rather important and useful bit of info. Thank you Osprey. ops:

That just MIGHT have something to do with the lack of sales.
