  • Fallen Branches

I am at 282 fletching and I am looking do the last push to 300. I am a cleric so obviously I cannot forage the branches I need so I need some help with the fallen branches.

    Fallen Straight Oak Treant Branch
    Fallen Dry Treant Branch

These are both ground spawn in The Elddar Forest, my question is how many locations are these found, where are they found (locs?) and what is the respawn rate on them? On my server (Cazic Thule) the Fallen Straight Oak sell for 300pp (if lucky) to 1k, and the Fallen Dry sell for 1k+ or so each. I have some money, but not that much.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

there are about 10.. steady spawn points for these, but they are on an 8 hour timer. IF you manage to get them once.. remember what time it was, and go back 8 hours later.

easiest 4 are the 2 ends of the fallen log. 2 in each end. the other 6 seem to share spawns with pomegranites and green apples, so you may or may not get them, in the *low* little valley right near the fallen log you can get 3 or 4 if you are lucky... the others are a bit more random.. so you can normally count on just the 4...

also, there is 1 steady spawn in the Takish-Hiz zone...near the treants. same 8 hour spawn time.. tend to get the dry fallen version more there, though I have seen the other 2 versions rarely.

What I did was put an alt in zone and check for ground spawns before playing and after logging off. I found all my branches a short distance from the fallen log and in the hollow area. Mark on your map each time you find one and soon you will notice the pattern of how they spawn. They drop where the treants pause on their walking paths.

There is an 8 hour respawn and only the 2 ends of the hollow log are guaranteed to have branches. If you can check in the middle of the night, you have a better chance of being the first one to a spawn.

If you're willing to horse-hunt for your own hooves, I believe there is a supple laminate bow that takes you near or above 300 too, so don't sneeze at the Fallen Straight Treant Branches.

Supple Laminate trivials at 302. Stringing it is a 286(?) trivial combine.

What Elyssanda says about the ground spawns is correct. However, the ones inside the fallen log are the only ones that can be reliably counted on to spawn in the same location.

The problem with the other ground spawns is the uneven topograhy in the Elddar Forest. It's quite common for ground spawning branches to appear half in and half out of the terrain or even spawn under the world entirely, where they can't be seen (although sometimes reached). I once obtained one of these branches by parking my character directly under a treant. When the treant moved away, I faced straight down and started clicking. Bingo - a treant branch appeared on my cursor, even though there wasn't anything visible on the ground. I also found, entirely by chance, a branch that had spawned underground when my character was crouching down in the little valley near the fallen log. Somehow, crouching down made this branch visible.

So if you are having trouble finding these other branches, that's probably the reason for it. Well, that and other players routinely swinging by and picking them up.

It should also be noted that some of the new TSS zones have treants with the same items on their loot tables. This includes the treants in Blightfire Moor.

Rotwood corrupters in Goruk'ar Mesa southwest corner can drop Straight Treant Branch and Fallen Straight Treant Branch, been getting about 8 per clearing.
Dang slow but at least I know I'll walk out with a few.
Elddar Forest lag is too annoying (even clipped and looking down a lot) to make
it worthwhile for me but it's the best place to forage them for sure.
