So I'm sitting on 200 fletching at the moment, eventually I plan on getting it further, but I'm now sure exactly what a good route would be past there? Any ideas, thanks

    Incoming standard response:

If you are a Wood Elf or a Karana worshipper, do your cultural arrows.

    Otherwise do this:

    Storebought arrows to 202.
Serrated or discord tip arrows to 212 and then again to 227.
    Acrylia arrows to 268.
Shaped Darkwood Compound to 282 (or is it Shadewood? It's been years)
    Various PoR bows to 300.

Not as easy as it looks, and requires a lot of farming or a lot of plat.

    Good luck,
    C

My plan is the following, mix and match as supplies come available

202 class 1 steel point arrow (large groove)
212 class 3 wood serrated tip arrow (large groove)
215 rough sedgewood compound bow (linen)
227 class 1 steel discord tip arrow (large groove)
228 class 1 steel serrated tip arrow (large groove)
235 class 1 dragorn point arrow (large groove)
235 rough darkwood compound bow (hemp)
      255 rough shadewood recurve bow
      268 shadow tipped acrylia arrow
      278 supple treant recurve bow
      282 rough shadewood compound bow
      291 oak treant recurve bow
      298 desiccated treant recurve bow
302 oak treant laminated recurve bow

Chunks of Taelosian and Discordian rock are a problem, they don't seem to drop that often (any hints on farming them?), I haven't tried hunting Dragorn Wing Bones yet, Darkwood and Shadewood are 270-350pp ish, but condensed shadow drop like crazy. Treant and Oak staves are ground spawns in Elddar Forrest every 3 hours or so.

Am I crazy or could this work? Mostly free (except the shadewood/darkwood and shimmering steel threads)

My experience has been that fletching drops from OoW are rare enough that they can not be considered for skill up paths. Even the GoD drops are far more common.

I agree with Nion on the frequency of finding OoW fletching drops. They're a nice supplement to your existing path when you can find them, but tend not to be available in quantities sufficient to justify them as a step on the path.

As for the chunks of taelosian rock (which is all you'll be able to get until you're Kod`Taz flagged), there really is no sure-fire way to get them. As you get into your 50's, Natimbi is going to be fear-kite heaven for a ranger, just keep all the ones you get and check the in-zone vendors regularly. I would recommend that you suck it up and do the conversion quest, as eventually you'll get three taelosian stones per chunk of taelosian rock conversion (meaning that a stack of chunks will eventually grant you 6 stacks of arrowheads (chunk->stone yield 3 * stone->arrowhead yield 2 = 6 arrowheads)). Keep an eye out for them in the bazaar too, as sometimes people sell them at extremely reasonable prices.

          Good luck,
          C

Caught that, and I am flagged for Kod'Taz, so what in there am I able to do exactly? The chunks of Taelosian Rock, how often do they drop? As a 70 monk can I solo whatever I need to kill easily enough? Should I bring my 70 shaman for backup?

In any KT+ zone, hunt whatever you're able to hunt. I've had some luck soloing in Yxxta, but even then, the drop rates of chunks of discordian rock aren't exactly eye-popping. I recommended Natimbi only because the mobs are so easy, so you can crank through them faster, and thereby increase your chance of getting the drop. Really, any of those zones are as likely as any other to give you what you need.

There is no trivial difference between serrated and discord arrowheads, so wherever you find yourself having the best luck getting a mix of drops and decent xp is probably the right place to hunt.

              Hope that helps,
              C

I would say trying to farm the chunks in KT, solo, is going to be far too difficult a way to get large quantities for skill ups.

The only reason I have any at all is my guild is currently doing GoD progression. So every Friday night we are in Qvic, Iktu'ta, Txevu, etc. zones killing stuff with a full raid.
