  • Eldaar Advice

About to start running my 62 druid through Eldaar to forage branches. Anything I should watch out for? Any recommendations of things I might be able to solo while running around?

I abhor AFK foraging, so I want to keep busy.

Lots of lv 70's and yellows/some reds to 70's around in that zone.

Nothing to report in solo killing there, but as for searching for branches:

When you zone in Go West and then down the earthern ramp, at the bottom Turn northwest, and in a bit you will see a huge tree. The only set branch spawns in the zone are located two each (four total) in each end of the log. They have long, random respawn timers though, so basically need to get lucky.

Searching ground spawns I have noticed that the closer you are to the fallen log the better the chance for a ground spawn to be a branch in stead of green apples or pomegranites, but it could just be me.

If you look at an overhead view of the map, I would do your primary searching from 8 oclock to 1 oclock, that area has the highest concentration of ground spawns, I have yet to find a branch outside of that area (but I have only done maybe 8 complete zone wide searches).

      Keep foraging constantly while there.

        Many more than 4 branches..

I sent my map to a friend prior to my HD going 'poof'.. Will get a copy back.
and post the locs I found (keep in mind they can respawn, but always found within seeing distance)

Best I got was 10 branches in 1 round of pick up's but I know some spots I knew about had not respawned yet. There are also ones in zone that just seem to be buggy.
Mensei 88 Rogue (Gnome) Sal3, GM 300 in all base tradeskills +Tinkering & Poison Making (Melee Research 296 - getting there)
Menssia 75 Cleric (High Elf) Sal3, GM 300 in all base tradeskills (except Research)

Let me clarify, I used "set branch spawn" which wasn't obvious enough. There are only four spawns that are set to only spawn branches and nothing else. Our understanding is that every other spawn spot "can" (i.e. there is a chance) spawn a branch.

I was alos stating that in my experience, I have found more random ground spawns closer to the log vs farther away. I found the most random ground spawns in four basic locations:

          1. West of the log in the flat area just before the earthern ramp that goes (south-west) to the giants.
          2. North of the log just over the rise, in the flat area.
          3. South of the log in the "bog" / low area (oval shaped).
          4. South on the flat area just above and around the "bog" / low area.

I have have gotten as many as 6 in a cycle. Since they can be foraged now, I am less inclined to spend time running around looking for them (plus I have been busy doing other stuff). When I am in position to get more, I will load my main (Ranger) and a druid foragebot / portbot (both with all three Forage AAs) and will go hang out in Eddar for a while, probaly followed by an equal amount of time in Devistation.
