If you have no smithing skill, you might want to do some Abysmal quests to get to 50+ then do trophy quest and probably get a gearlok.

I had gotten to 115, then just sucked it up and plowed through on the 188 trivial steel arrow head recipe (best to use gearlok primary trophy secondary until it dings level 4/7 = +5%, or you can suck it up as +4% for level 3/7).

I would then stop making the fletching parts and go do Enchanted Velium Bits until skill 200. You can even keep doing them until the trophy dings the next level. It is overkill but gives you 200 + 8% smithing, thus reducing your number of failures when you go back to do more "expensive" arrow shafts. Net cost for parts assuming no failures is ~35pp per combine, but because of yields (2 each on parts) you have to do in pairs.

Your options are No Farming or Cheap. There is no happy combination of the two.

Sounds like you want No Farming. That means the arrows Gorse gave you.

If you want cheap, your options are Serrated arrowhead arrows to 227, then acrylia to 268, then switch over to the Steel Guardian arrows.
