  • Proposed solution to the non-Karana non-Tunare logjam

Why not just raise the trivial on fire and ice tipped acrylia arrows to 295 or so? I'd put those roughly on par with shadowscream as far as annoyance per combine, which seems about right. If you wanted to be kind, you could raise the trivial on shadow tipped too, but the chunks of condensed shadow are much more common than the fire and ice chunks.

PoR bows are very feasible. Yes, it takes a bit of time. Not so much if you have plat to burn to buy parts from others.

All you really have to collect are the treant branches, horse hooves and spiderling silk. Everything else is store-bought, once you have the laminator, rollers & blade from your neighborhood tinkerer.

You can use all 3 types of branches up to 300:
    - straight staff + string until trivial
    - oak staff + string until trivial
    - dry staff + string until trivial

The following are all 300+ combines, so they can always be done for skill-ups:
    - straight laminated staff (2 rollers)
    - oak laminated staff (2 rollers)
    - dry laminated staff (2 rollers)
    - oak laminated staff + string
    - dry laminated staff + string

(sorry I don't have the names of the actual combines but you can figure it out)

Much, much less painful than nightmarewood bows ever were.

I agree that the PoR bows solved the problem. The only cloud is the windfall for afk macro-bot foragers.

Not mention that the devs have posted that they specifically didn't want to change an already established recipe just as a bridge. Its also why several other skills havnt had something similar to your idea done yet.

They also stated that as soon as there was a fix with fletching, the trivials of the bought path to 300 would be lowererd.

Seems they stated at fanfaire that they are happy with fletching now, so i wonder if and when they will lower trivials on the woodelf/karana arrows

Using the "Straight Oak", laminating them, +2 rollers, then add a string:
this gives 4 combines (with a >300 triv) for 3 brances - after all the sub-combines.

This is just one of the many combines that fletchers can now use, I find it the biggest bang for the buck since the Straight Oaks are plentiful in the fallen varaity.

The biggest bottleneck atm are the horse hoofs for this combine. But since one hoof now = 10 adhesives; using the above combine, one hoof now = 20 combines. Cheap combine compared to what people were doing prior to the PoR bows.

IMO, PoR bows have solved the problem. I don't need to skill, but I am helping a couple of friends still pushing for 2100. As a Karana follower, I had the cheater path to 300. These alternatives to 300 have made 282 - 300 much easier. Goodbye PoN / Elemental farming!

              Well, not quite.

I am still not happy with the bought path only for wood elf / karana. But I have been ordered not to alter (nerf) it for now.

                DoD Arrows

Did the DoD arrow recipes go in with this patch, by chance? I didn't see it mentioned in the patch message, but those aren't always accurate anyway.

We're not happy with it either. But I guess having one race or deity that has a much easier time of fletching, for lore reasons, isn't too horrible. Well who am I kidding, yes it is.

At least with PoR bows, there's a viable altrenative for non-wood elf karana haters. That makes the wood elf / karana blasphemy tolerable. Except for them leveling up their trophies on storebought stuff, which makes me nauseous again.

Heck if we're gonna have some people having a racial advantage for tradeskilling why not put a store-bought way to get to 300 baking in only for hobbit halflings and followers of denmom and pie lovers!?! Heheh..

I agree that i'm not happy with it either Ngreth. Being a Half Elf, Tunare worshipping ranger. This kinda screams, if you wanted to do fletching you should've chosen to be a Wood Elf or worshipped Karana, way before any of the cultural/deity fletching was created.

I've already made my Fletcher's Arrow, but if you'd like to nerf the cultural arrows, you could just change the small groove nocks component to something that has to be farmed. Maybe something roughly equivalent in difficulty to a small brick of yttrium ore.

The Karana Arrows already have the solution built in. Lower the trivial levels of the arrows that are vendor items only, and leave the Blessed Guadian Arrows as they are. They require the forage / farmed plains pebbles, when then have to be imbued and then undergo a NO DROP (ok, NO TRADE) transformation, before being used to make the arrowheads for the final arrow.

I did not even discover that Steel Guardian Arrows were 335 trivial level too, until after I had skilled up to 300 and 7/7 trophy doing literally thousands of Blessed Guardian Arrows.

I suggest we add an easy tailoring route for Bristlebane Halflings only. That way everyones happy.
