I believe it is an item replacement (as mentioned in the patch message).

I was suprised to notice a "Do you wish to attune this" type message today when swapping between a range item and my Laminated Bow I have bought a week or so ago. The old bow was nice, but nearly as nice as this one I was given to day as a replacement post-patch.
