  • Elddar fletching stuff

So my bard spent about 10 hours in Elddar, I plan on moving her back but she got derailed by a possible POP raid she was missing.. anyway...

As far as I could determine there are two types of ground spawns in Elddar, random, and "dropped". If I am at all right, the random ones have a longer respawn, the "dropped" ones are ~8 minutes or so. Initially I ran all around the zone, and marked everywhere I picked up a ground spawn, then after a while I started to see a pattern and decided to follow the treants in the NW corner... after a bit I realized that either they can drop randomly anywhere on the treant's path, or at set points on the treant's path... either way, once I decided to track their pathing, I got a drop pretty much every round I chased a treant.

    The things I saw

The BIG treants (real treants) can drop pomegranites, green apples, or the 2 non dry treant staffs... the small treants drop only apples and pomegranites (it appears that Pomegranite is common, apple is uncommon and staff (for big treants) is rare))...

There are some ground spawns that are set (the hollow log always has staffs - but spawns them rarely) others always spawn poms/apples.

I have my map with all of my ground spawns, as well as the pathings of things in the NW corner, but I suck at computers beyond EQ and word processing, if someone wants a copy of my stuff, I'd be happy to email it (PM me) or if someone wants to host the copy, again, PM me and I'd be happy to share

I have been experiencing some similar results. I have noticed static mobs with the ground spawns at their feet and was predicting a drop by the mobs or the mob pathed to the spawn spot. (there are plenty others though ofetn in the same area without being a mob pause location.

I did record a loc for the tree, but I will redo it tagging the four corners and post.

Right bow I did the center of each end which fall:

    +1030 +700 (NW end) to
    +780 +970 (SE end)

Each end of the log has two spawns, the will be randomly inside the end of the log, one of each a Straight Treant Branch and a Straight Oak Treant Branch.

I have recorded a lot of spawn points, and it seems that the random spawn area applies to more than just the spawns inside the logs. I belive that along with the static spawns, there are some spawns that spawn in a radius of a spawn point.

Another observation is that I have experienced the most ground spawns in the North West Quadrant of the zone. If you go west from the zone in, down the ramp you will see a large even lower open area, then he log is just north.

(If something is not clear, please ask.)

      For what it's worth...

I wandered around for two hours without finding anything but apples and pomegranates. Then, I found three in a row very close to one another... one in the hollow log and two in the low-lying area nearby. Another half hour of wandering, and I came back to find two more in the same general area. I don't know what that means, but it definitely wouldn't hurt to keep an eye there.

If I had to guess, I'd say there are many set spawnpoints, but only so many are active at once. (I was marking them on the map, and twice found a spawn in what appeared to be the exact same spot I had marked.) That's how it seemed to work, but we all know how things appear are not always how things are (especially after hours of mindless searching.)

Some ground spawns have more than one item on the spot. Most of the time I find them it is a pomegranite and an apple, but I have found a branch off a double spawn before. (The double spawns have been random, perhaps the zone ground machine has Looters Bounty or whatever you want to call the spawning version od the Forage Mastery series).

          branches

          This my experience.

          1) Hollow Log - 1 of each of the Oak and Straight Treant Branches spawn here - at either end of the log. The best I can narrow down the spawn timer is to about 3-4 hours apart. And is seems both ends of the log spawn separately ... because I just looted 1 end of the log 1 hour after I looted the other end.

          2) Both types also drop from wandering Treants - rarely, along with the more frequent pomegranite or green apple. I just run around where ever Treants roam and check the ground.

          3) The Dry Treant Branch I have found as ground spawn in Takish ... left behind by one of the roaming Treants.

          Hope that helps peeps.

Anyone know if the apples/pomegranates laying on the ground will prevent branches from "spawning"? I know we are finding two spawns on top of one another a lot, but no idea if it's two "instances" of the same spawn point...or two separate spawn points that just happen to share the same spot.

Also, the "dropped' ground spawns...are the locations random? Or are they in the same spot each time (I tend to lean towards the latter, but that's not based on /locs so much as just visual data.)

I have once found three items stacked. Pom, apple and a branch. Seems to very rare. The branchs seem to only have 4 locations that are 'fixed' the rest seem to be random on the paths of the wandering treants. Oak seems to be the 'common' version.
