  • Journeyman's Fletching Test

Has anybody else noticed that we have the ONLY task that requires drops from Kod'Taz and higher in GoD? The Journeyman task requires a Discord tip arrow, made from Chunk of Discordian Rock, which only drops in KT and higher.

It's the only task path requiring access to a locked zone. And Tipt is not that easy. Imagine if you're a level 50 201-249 skill Fletcher . . . And you know the price gouging on these will be worse than on the Drake Wing Bones so far (20K + on my server).

We need to get this changed to Serrated Arrow Heads, which are made from Chunk of Taelosian Rock, a much more common drop on the beaches of Natimbi.

The Master test (300) also requires a Discord Tip arrow.

The recipe will be included in my write up soon, by the end of hte weekend at the latest.

I know the recipe, I've made one before, back when people thought they were junk. Now a bunch of fletchers need it and if you don't get into KT, you can't get them without being price gouged or having friends. This is very wrong. No other Journeyman or Master quest has these kind of conditions. Some have rare drops, but in farmable zones for anybody of a decent level. KT does not fit that description.

I concur. I think the fact the Master level requires not one, but two girplan feather recipes (a rare drop only component require for the AAAA recipe as well). This should be reconsidered as well, which does not even take into consideration the other rare drops (Drake Wing Bones, (the Dragorn whatever bones) and the Discord Tips as you mentioned). It does seem more than a little excessive.

It should also be condisered that for all of our bow combines there is some other skill involved, bewing, smithing, tailoring and tinkering all come to mind, which means we have to get the skill up ourselves, or worse, pay someone else so that we can meet the requirements, so so we can make an attempt at our trophy.

NGreth posted in the Tradeskill Forum on EQLive that he will be replacing the Discord combines with something else in the 3/14 patch. He didn't mean for any components to be in locked zones. Part way down this thread:

If you have done the combine already, hand it in. If you have not done the combine, you can wait a couple weeks and it will change on your task list.

And you were not the only ones.

Smithing and Brewing had some from KT. Tailoring and Brewing have one that totally breaks it (one of the sub combines cannot be made currently) Alchemy had some for the 50 skill that had trivials in the 200's ....

I was not "picking" on fletching

As mentioned above, a fix is in, but needs a full patch, which is scheduled for 3/14
