Can anyone help me find Drake Wing Bones?

My level 40 Ranger has kept me busy. I have worked hard to get her up to 245 Fletching. As I anticipated a more difficult quest at 250 skill, I opted to request a test now. My problem is that I have never seen Drake Wing Bones anywhere before. I tend to like to try and acquire things on my own too so I sincerely hope that a mission is not required. I do get frustraated when we are put in a position of how to scheme to use our friends wisely. I am sorry if the tone of this offends. Please provide information if you are able. Thank you.

youll need help or bazzaar 329 drakes killed in lavaspinners lair, zero drop but they do drop there

I have only seen them drop in DoN missions from drakes. They do not drop commonly. Best bet at lvl 40 is to buy them in bazaar. On Prexus I have seen them for 100 plat each. I have no idea how much they have gone up since the new trophy quest.

It has been a long time but soon after DoN came out I foraged a few (and the spikes) in the Broodlands. Also sometimes the drakes there dropped them.

Wing Bones? Same deal. In the last moth I have seen none in bazaar, or 1-2 for 20k+. wtf is wrong with people? These are items with NO VALUE lmao.

As with all things, the value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it. Right now, the mega-rich are willing to throw a tonne of cash out for the drops to complete their trophies, but that will pass and prices WILL come down -- as long as the drop rates aren't outrageously poor (stone beans?) or the result item isn't outrageously good (OoW augs).

I picked some up for 30pp, 120pp, and 400ish on Prexus. Drake spikes .... saw them for 15k then someone put up 8 for around 350pp each and I bought them all up. I think what I have left is up for sale at the moment.

Like others have said your only way to attain these on your own *(at your lvl) will be to buy them in baz, hopefully from someone who doesnt do tradeskills so won't know how much they could charge. Saw one up for 9k earlier and laughed, an hour later one was up for 300pp. Its a matter of luck often.

We usually do a Nest run after raids each night and have been for a while...I would guess in the past 30 missions or so, we've looted 3 or 4 bones, while in that same time about 45 MDS & 15 Glossy hides...so yep they are rare hehe. Just watch out for them or even better ask friends who do Nest runs or guildies maybe. I got my last 2 from a guildy who was on a higher trophy lvl.

baking combines
skinning knife + drake wing = drake meat + drake wing bones
could do the same for spikes from claws and skinning knife or whatever

feather 10k plus each wing bones and spikes 5k +

The PoR drop rates are pretty common from what I've seen. I've made all of the bows and the only item I really have an issue getting would be the blades for the cams and that's not a drop rate issue but a lack of desire to fight in Devastation. When I was fighting there, the blades dropped 5 out of 7 kills of the dark blue giants. Unfortunately, they're not kiteable because they summon. The drops seem to be a bit more rare off the non-summoning mobs but certainly they're no where near as rare as DoN drops where you can go weeks without seeing a single one.

I've occasionally gotten drake wing bones soloing in Thundercrest Island. There are three drakes near zone in which don't summon. If you have time left, you can kill some of the roaming statues for part of the DoN progression quest. If you're a wood elf, the drakes also count toward the grandmaster cultural armor quest.

okies i need more of these than an expert fletcher.. boggle and im 53 no way when these are like d blue to my druid.. of 68! not to mention the meat is for journey bakers trophys ? one meat one bone. 2 spikes fell in there today and we pretty much just contantanly killed them on test you are not gona see these in quantity that is needed =( and none in the bazzar period! i dont mind killing for my stuff but to not get hardly nuff for one person to compelete this after hours of working on the mobs. deaths etc.. its not mission only but sure looks like not nuff falls either way.. /sigh. oh and if they were more abundant then more would get out at a cheaper rate cause , right now i have never seen a nest drake meat on a merchant . or a stone bean. though my druid did get that from daughters find in bazzar here if they had known how rare those are they'd prolly high priced it lol..

agree, i was there, my 70 ranger, a 70 shaman friend with bot, 65 ranger, plus her 68 drood... and we ended up with a whole days work, 2 meats and 1 drake wing bones from lavaspinners lair =( i have twins and a 7 year old, things like this are hard for me to have any afk time to deal with kids...
