Well I am not. Other than to say no new arrows. I know people want them, but I was under orders not to create any.

As for the bows. I am personally leaving it to players to talk about.

I asked them to not give out detailed recipe listings, to allow people to also have the sense of discovery and not feel "cheated" by not being in beta and having people "spoil" it. I think they may have taken it farther than I intended. I mostly did not want the book text detailed, and the recipe listings detailed I did not necessarily want them to say nothing. I do know one of the beta players used it to skillup from 282 to 300, but then he also had the advantage of it being on beta vendors, the real acid test will be when things are live, and the appropriate mobs are hunted.

But even then, it is up to the beta players to say what they want. May they want you to be fully surprised too They are even "Allowed" to give full recipe listings. I wish they would not, and have asked them not too But there is not "legal" ramifications to them doing so

Never once did I commit to a time frame for the code change. All I said is that it would not happen until the code change.

With no new arrows, I fear that non Karana and Wood Elf characters are still going to be left out in the cold for fletching. Unless the drop rate for the bow components is much higher than in PoP and Omens, there will be no significant improvements in skillup paths. Better player made bows will be good for usage and sale, but may not be a viable skillup path.

please drop the bane arrow idea, bane weapons for melee got over the top and switching arrows while you kill trash for a raid will give me carpul tunnel

simple 14 15 16 17 dam arrows with 125-175 range are fine. bane was ok with ssra then it got dull, as it did in vt and seru and i dont think anyone used rz bane in potac because normal weps outdpsed them

Just say no to bane, give us Grandmaster Cultural bows and arrows which you can add symbols in etc

                Ngreth,

Tis very depressing news on the lack of arrows and a skill-up path for the rest of us here.

                /sigh

Have you even TRIED the new skillup path?

                  Why must it be arrows?

agree with Ngreth & Maev.. check out the new stuff.. the SUBCOMBINES for the new bows have some that triv over 400... so you don't even need enough to MAKE a bow.. just do the subcomnbines... however, think you'll like some of the top bows..

"Why must it be arrows?" and
"you can skill up with new por receipes 282 to 300"

Ok... here's why we're waiting for arrows.

You could skill up 282 to 300 on old PoP bows (and fletching trophies) too. That doesn't mean any sane person would do so. I understand crazy -- I spent several months running back and forth between Highpass and Halas on foot, sidling sideways because I didn't have weight reducing bags, for my smithing. But even I threw up my hands and stopped at 282 fletching.

In addition to the added expense and rarer parts for making bows, there's another aggravation. Any expensive parts that drop will mostly be used by already-300-skill elven fletchers because those rare parts will be expensive and the already-300 should have double or triple the base success rate (the new 12% trophies add to the gap).

I don't think it's too early to whine. We don't completely lack information on the first day of an expansion. We have five years of evidence to draw on. And 'no arrows' is significant in that context.

I think when a developer actually says there is a new skilup path, and you do not know what it is or how it works, it IS too early to whine. Personally, I'm going to check out the subcombines Elyssanda mentioned.

There were arrows added with OoW, I guess you could stick to using those to skillup on if you don't want to check out the new non-arrow method, if the five years of evidence tells you so.
