  • Bows n Arrows since pop

OK - we understand that there is some form of concern of archery being somewhat overpowered, differant than envisioned - or whatever. Got it. That said - There are dropped Bows that are far greater in power than trade skilled bows. These are sure to empower the users of said bows to get better damage output with their bows... etc.

PoP brought in the Nightmare and Elemental bows made from tradeskillers. At the time they blew away all previous tradeskilled bows. PoPs best dropped Ele bows were about equal to the and the 3? Tier 3 droped bows. Since then each expansion has released greater and greated bows - just as all other gear gets upgrades with the new content.

DoN released a completly new cultural line of gear (third version? IIRC Velious relieased the first tier of cultural and somewhere there was a big cultural upgrade between Luclin and POP - and then POP smithing/ tailoring was a viable competitor). Over time and expansions there are some dramatic upgrades in what armor can be made with tradeskills. GoD released some new recipees that were the flavor of the month for a bit for velium gemed weapons.

GoD, Omens in the least released new bow recipees and all new expansions (maybe not DoD -- I will have to double check) have released new arrow recipees. However - these are all geared towards alternate skill up routes thru dropped items some rare some common some purchased at vendors.

Yet -- with the exception of the drakespine arrows - there has been no upgrade bows tradescrafted by players since PoP. Pop. Since pop we have had LDON, LoY, GoD, Omens, DoN, DoD and the best tradeskilled bows are from 7 expansions ago. 7. 7 expansions. Other than the "fun" of tradeskilling - the value of being a maxed out fletcher hasnt' changed since pop drakespine arrow notwithstanding. If there is a concern for players making bows that are too great - make them hard to get parts for. Maybe not raid only drops - maybe so. Maybe the end results can be attunable or no drop. but something. I mean is there any way to throw the fletchers a bone here. I mean anyone that was savy enough to have a higher than average tailoring or smithing skill has been able to step up and do the DoN cultural quests and provide some great products to players. with 3 augment slots.

From fletchers... bits of the new augment, a few alternate routes to skill up - but otherwise -zip. Since pop.

Anyway we can expect Fletching to have any game enhancing value other than a bit part in quests? a new set of cultural bows? Arrows? Raided fletching components? Fletchign quests commensurate with the DoN /DoD quests? Anything? note the luke warm simmer of this forum for the last 2 years... I think the fletchers are... marginalized and would like to make products for the player base to make some return on the time invested to master the trade.

I edited the title of the thread; as has been pointed out to you above, it is against the rules to address posts specifically to SOE Devs. There are offical forums at EQLive if you want to do that.

      Thanks
