  • Any good places to farm Jacinth?

Anyone know of places where these might drop more than average? Or even average? Been about 3 years since I tried to "farm for gems" so not sure where a cleric can solo these days that will net these.

    ~~
Was bored this weekend and went scrounching around in PoK, bazaar, Lavastorm and guild lobby for GM fletching knife gems and decided to do some combines.

Started with 282 fletching, and got excited at first:

    - 5 combines (1 skillup) = 283
    - 2 combines (1 skillup) = 284

Spent an hour "cleric foraging" for gems.

    - 24 combines (no skillups).

Overall I'm still pleased, but the rarest gem is jacinth from everything I can tell so that's the one I'll have to track down.

Please keep good track of your trophy successes and fails and post the results in the data collection thread. =) Any data would be hugely helpful for narrowing the trivial down.

      Kyros,

Be a dear and bump or link the thread you wanted me to post my findings on? I've looked through 5 pages here and not sure which thread it was supposed to be

I haven't farmed there lately, but PoG has had good gem drops.

Bless you. Data added (though it's higher than the range you're looking for right now).

All data is welcome. Even the data you provided helps -- it will contribute towards a more statistically accurate estimate of the cap. Thankee much for posting it. =)

Here's a link to Allakhazam's listing which zones, and from which critters, jacinth gems drop from:

                http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=6723

NOTE: Please ignore the part about the drops in Old Sebilis, as they don't drop there anymore and the information hasn't been updated yet.

Personally, I find jacinths on a rather steady basis on NPC vendors. Any vendor that sees a particularly high volume of traffic stands a good chance of having them in stock, although they can certainly be on vendors off the beaten track. Apparently, the vendors in Lavastorm Mountains are a good source of these gems, as people performing DoN missions collect them during their adventures and afterwards sell them to said vendors.
