The madness of 290-300

After slowly picking away at Fletching for the last 5-6 months or so (doing the odd Bazu Bow, Class 7 Arrows, some Nightmare Bows) and not getting a skill up, in oh lets say 60 combines, I decided to save up for at least a go with 100 combines ready. Power through the slump so to say. Easier said than done. But I had a surplus off PP and was determined to make some gains.

After another 2-3 months farming the bazaar and OoW I came up short....with 7 Bazu Bones and 3 Girplan Feathers /sigh. But I did score enough for 20 Nightmare Bows. /yay. So what to do to fill up the other 70 to 100? Trophies! Oh yes I am that crazy. So this is how it broke down:

Bazu Bone (7) ~ 2500pp x 7 = 15.5kpp
Class 7 Drake Arrows (3) ~ 3000pp x 3 = 9kpp
Nightmare Bow (20) ~ 3750pp x 20 = 75kpp

7 Bazu Bows - 7 success - 0 skill up :-/
20 Nightmare Bows - 17 Successes/4 fails (yay salvage) - 0 skill up :-/
Drake arrows - 3 success - 0 skill up :-/

Not a great start to my day /cry - 99.5k in the hole

Artisan Seal:
Blue DIamond (400pp), Diamond (350pp), Jacinth (300pp), Black Sapphire (285pp), Velium Bar x8 (2120pp) -- ~ 3455pp x 70 = 241850pp :-/ (but this is gonna pay off right???)

Fishbone Dart:
Small Piece of Velium x4 (180pp), Coldain Temper x3 (35pp) ~ 215pp x 70 = 15050pp

Grandmaster's Fletching Knife - 62 success/10 fails - 0 skill up :-/

256900pp + 99500pp = 356400pp + 6hrs time for nothing :-/

Resale on the Trophies you ask? 1pp.

I was expecting "maybe" if I had a good day to get 3 points (120kpp a point - ok I can live with that.) but to get nothing? Suffice it to say my Fletching will remain at 290 prolly for the rest of my gaming carrer. I don't care what "new recipies" are added. Unless people actually want the item made for thier use i'm not even going to bother. I doubt i'll ever cary a fletching kit again...after 6 years :-/

Next up, Tailoring...27 points to go. But oh ya, I am a Half Elf.... /sigh

Ouch thats a lot of cash.
If you want my advice i would wait till the expansion brings and get back into fletching then.

I dont know if you looked at my post about my fletching results.... but from 290 to 300 took me around 700 attempts (i would guess)

About the same here, 282 to 300 took me about 1400 combines, and 299-300 using tropy route took me about 200+ combines.
