Fiend gut strings

Well I made it into elementals to find that I needed tinkered items to proceed with planar bows. I found merchant farming 138 molten bow cams and then proceeded to look up what else I would need to do bow combines. All that i have found so far is that Fiend gut strings drop off level 75 to 78 named mobs in PoFire. Can anyone comfirm them to drop off lower level mobs? This is disheartening. I thought I would actually have a chance to do some combines to get me past the 282 impass but there is slim chance of it moving any time soon if the mobs are that high.

honestly, if you wish to go that way.. for Non-Karana you have these choices

Nightmare bows (295)
Girplan feathers (300+)
Bazu Bones (300+)

all other elemental bows, the items are just to plain rare unless your guild raids there or you group in elemental planes often.

The guts you talk about only come off the raid mobs..afaik.

Ive been doing some fletching this week and also saw someone selling cheap (ish) molten cams, checked the recipe... back on baz found piles of cheap staves, got quite excited at a possible skill up path. Final part need two Fiend gut strings, checked baz 3 people had them going for 25-30k each. I have found if i sit a few feet from my screen and squint my eyes, my flecthing total could be mistaken for 300 (or maybe a small dog).

Fiend Guts drop off the named demons that are part of the Fennin Ro event -- after you kill the trigger (Guardian of Doomfire) and before you reach Fennin. They're also moderately rare.

Fiend Guts are rare... this is not a viable skillup path.

Thats why obsidianwood bow staves and molten bow cams are so cheap... they never sell.

Any demon model in PoFire can drop them, including the trash mobs in the FR event. That said there's still only about 10 mobs in the entire zone even counting those guys.

the plane of earth bows are a viable skill up method as well, the trees (arborens??) drop the string, the steel, and the bow staffs, so long as you can easly kill in this zone.

It is viable to skill up on poe bows but count 5 hours farming per combine

needing around 150 or so per skillup attempt , you can work it out ... 750 hours of farming per point is not really viable

There is only 1 bow that can be camped in the same location and provide a skillup path to 300. That is a PoWater bow. The Hraquis in water (down near where Hydrotha is... the frog guys you kill on the way to Corn) drop everything necessary. Granted they quad for close to 1k, have a fair amount of HP for a lvl 66-67 mob, and you are fighting in water. It also takes a bit of fighting to get there because you need to go through tunnels with see invis trulion champions. I have done no less than 400 aa's there. The exp is great, its never camped because it is hard even at lvl 70 with snotloads of aa's. But it is a decent path. In a 2-3 hour sessions I can get all parts for 3-4 bow attempts.

I agree with the previous poster, water bows is by far the best path to take and the camp where they drop have lots of other nice drops as well like regrua claws used in partyplatters.
a 6 hour camp there with a good group usually give us many stacks of claws and lots of E'cian ice + the other drops for the bows, so besides it beeing good xp there its also a virtual gold mine in regards to farming, and using the bows for tribute is just $$$$$

all non Karana/Tunare fletchers,,,, seriously, I read somewhere that the fletching skillup route has been addresses in the next expansion. If you want my advice, do something else untill then and see what options you have after the next expansion is released.

Plane of Water is by far the best,out of the EP bows to skill up on.clearin the area where Offossa is and in the tunnels nearby.They have tons of fishmen to farm.They drop bow staffs alot,along with the string and E'cian ice.I have gotten about 5 bow staffs in about an hour farming there,half a stack of ice and around a stack of kelp string.I duo with a cleric,isnt to hard at all.They do hit hard,but they dont run or summon.Only bad thing is its underwater fighting.Fairly easy for any class to single pull.

Heh,you will certainly get a crap load of Rugura claws,i have a mule loaded with the darn things.
