  • PoP Arrows

searching for pop arrows here, seems they made alot of the ideas people came up with and put them in PoP, and example is the prisoner in PoJ that gives you a PoP arrow recipe. But maybe this isnt a Red Herring maybe it is a hint, like "hey look around arrows are out there you just arent combining the right items" just a thought, seems hard to swallow they would come out with all these new bows and no arrows.

You are talking about the folks who have had mythical bow recipes in the game since day one - seems perfectly reasonable to me.

One never knows with VI - these recipes might be real and we're just not figuring them out, the dialog might be broke and the fourth ingredient is something so off the wall that we'd never guess except by accident, the programers might have MEANT to put something in but forgot or ran out of time, or it could just be flavor text.

Remember branch of planar and sylvan oak have been found in game months before the implementation of wood elf cultural fletching...

Maybe Verant simply hasn't make the recipe functionnal atm.

Has anyone wrote the question on the official boards already ?

        arrows

exactly my point, were peeps a while back asking for those odd items like cockatrice beaks and owlbear beaks to be usable as arrowheads, took a little while when they made bows out of the planar and sylvan oak, so the possibility of an arrow combine with materials that are out there is pretty good, as well as new pop ones.

ahhh, but those staffs came to the game far later than those wonderful non recipees int eh book lol, ya know, the steel and ceramic ones? heck, now theres a steelshaft bow. . . but it aint crafted rofl

no, I find it far too easy to believe that there are no PoP arrow recipees. . . . although if they would add some perhaps less people would be competing for acrylia . . . . . .

NAH that would make sense!

I can see them putting PoP arrows into the game - the arrows would have easy to find components and be slightly better than acrylia based arrows with a trivial level of 212 and a min level of 220 to craft them.

            ***OR***

They would require one part from each of the four teirs of planes with each part being no-drop, a skill up ratio that results in 1000 combines and no skill up and stats that are inferior to the 180ish skill store made arrows.

That's of course if we're lucky and they're feeling nice to fletchers.

              Pop arrows unlikely

Verant is concerned that with Endless Quiver and Archery Mastery, Rangers have gained very significant and almost unbalancing power with archery. I think it is quite unlikely, based on the number and level of the new bows, that we will see much in the way of new arrows; the combination would be vastly more powerful given the up to 16X base damage that rangers with AM 3 can do in a Trueshot discipline with a "parked" mob. Maxed dexterity for crits is easy to obtain with Avatar, and the increased crit percentage from combat fury, coupled with a fast bow and the several stacking hastes now available makes for 2K or better crits at rates of 20% or more, every 1.2 - 1.3 seconds from a fast bow. A 10 damage arrow with a +8 or +10 bane to a particular class of mob, or a new type of arrow material to even out the difference between the tunare and non-diety cultural champion arrows is possible, but the difference that 1 point of base damage can add now is far too great to allow for a significant increase in arrow damage.
