Fellow fletchers, I need some help. I have been playing everquest for about 9 months now. My ranger is 202 on fletching. I have tried to build it up further but the only items I can work on now are bows. I keep seeing about new arrows but it is not on my fletching kit. What I need is somebody to link me a guide to what arrows i can build and how i get supplies for each arrow. I know certain ones require quest which is not a big deal. Any help would be welcomed and any suggestion would be welcomes as well.

Acrylia.
I don't know what level you are. BUt if you are in your mid 30s to late 40s the place to farm Acrylia is the 2 x caves in Grimling forest. SOme of the best luclin gem drop rate in game is right there and a fair ammount of Acrylia over time.
If you are in your 50s then zone in to Acrylia caverns and farm it there.
If you are in your 60s then go into Deep Acrylia and farm it there.
Anyhow once you have the acrylia make STACKS and STACKS and STACKS of bundles of Acrylia shafts. Then farm Twilight Sea or shadeweavers thicket for shadowed substance - then make arrow heads out of them until you have as many stacks as you do shafts. buy shield cut fletchings and small nocks and then combine away to your 260s in arrows.
YOu "can" do Darkwoods to 235 - but unless you have a pocket gnome you will lose your money FAST FAST FAST this way - or if you do have a pocket gnome you will move your money medium medium medium.
I hope you are a wood elf or a Karena follower cause when acrylia trivials go cultural until 300.

I cannot recommend strongly enough that you take advantage of GoD fletching from 202 to 227. The taelosian stones are plentiful, and very few people have the patience to do the quest to be able to do the conversion themselves. I've actually convinced several of my guildmates to go this way, and let me do the combines for them, so I'm at about 3 returns 50% of the time on the conversion. There is a trivial break on the arrows at 212 (so do the 212 arrows first), and then you can either do sedge bows to 215, or move right on to doing the GoD arrows that triv at 227. This will make the acrylia farming significantly less painful, though you'll come to despise those ugly little grimlings soon enough. Even with headshot, it takes me an hour to fill up two packs with enough acrylia to justify heading back to PoK to make shafts (no arrow molds available in Shar Vahl 8( ).
Good luck!Chase

Amen Chase.
I skilled 202 to 227 on GoD arrows. By the time I was ready to do these combines I had 9 stacks of the chunks of taelosian rocks.
Everytime I went to Abysmal or Natimbi I checked vendors and bought up any I saw. And I have been leveling a bard there for some time now.
It paid off for me.Lnnolanwil

you don't mention what race you are. If you are woodelf, you should check out the woodelf-only fletching recipes. Even though it's a pain in the a** to run back and forth from Felwithe to buy the non-stacking *grr* metal and then go to the woodelf forge in Kelethin to do combines because it was just too easy to actually put the metal in our home town like other races. Just because woodies live in trees is no reason to be mean to us.
Anyway, I mention woodie fletching because most of what you need can be store bought in Felwithe or Kelethin. I always prefer store-bought recipes because I don't have to wait for drops or wait for someone to be selling what I need in the bazaar. It doesn't work real well in Everfrost to tell the Magus you want to

Chunks of condensed shadows are easily farmed in shadeweavers thicket. or in the bazaar (On Torv) they run in the neighborhood of 35-40PP each. really don't spend that much unless you just want to waste PP.. they are easy to farm if you are over level 45 or so. (in the 30's mobs will still be lb & db)
Acrylia ore.. well.. that can be a bit of a PITA...the 2 caves in... ugh... Shar vahl-hollowshade-grimling-*choke* I can't think of the name of the zone.. anyway theres 2 caves that again in mid 40's are farmable...you will get ALOT of cash drops too. More than the acrylia..Go with EMPTY bags.. lots of them.. the runes which you will get ALOT of sell from 9g up to 4p apiece and you will get up to 7 runes on a kill. If you are of a high enough level, I would suggest Acrylia Caverns.. Much better drop rate on the acrylia.. Still getting TONS of the runes to sell... (with 2 wizzie friends who are level 70 and I'm 66 we Clear all of outter AC and move to Inner AC very quickly and in an hour or so I have all the acrylia I can hold, and when they sell the drops we can make about 1kpp each.)

Acrylia also drops frequently in The Deep from enthralled razorfiends, enthralled outcasts and enthralled underbulks. I don't remember seeing any on the thought leeches but maybe also on those.
Taelosian rock is a rarer drop from higher level critters than is shadowed substance and acrylia, but it's cheaper overall since the rock is easier to find on vendors and only has one use, unlike acrylia which has several.
Selling a few bricks of acrylia in the bazaar can easily cover the cost of Taelosian rock, if available, and related fletching supplies.
All I can say is skilling up fletching using arrows takes one heck of a lot of arrows =/ Can't even give the darn things away.....
