  • Do you think it is time to update Steel Guardian Arrows ?

Don't you guys think that it is time to update the recipe to state "This combine may only be made by followers of the deity Karana"? I feel that it would be a good idea for people that think that they have found a loophole like myself. Now, I have a mule with stacks and stacks of Steel Arrowheads, Steel Arrowshafts and Steel Fletch.

How did you get the Mark of Karana? You should only get it from the NPC if you follow Karana. It is No Drop, and you need it to make all the subcombines that you say you have already made.

He didn't say he made them. He said he had them. Possibly bought them in the bazaar.

Yes. I realized that after my post. Now I see where the "loophole" would have come into play

            How did I do it?

I have a Drood that follows Karana. He made all of the sub-combines. The mark of Karana is not required to make the actual arrows and the fletching kit token is not no-drop. So, because the mark is not needed and the recipie did not state that you had to be Karana to make them, I assumed that I could.

allways good to read the small print:
EQTC notes: Important Note Only Karana followers can do combines with this item. Even though it is no drop, the bazaar token for surefall fletching kit is tradeable (!) as of 10 March 2005

Sorry, but I agree with the original poster. On most recipes that are race restriced, there is a comment on the recipe itself that states this. I can see that people wouldn't click on the link to the tradeskill container to see if there was a restriction (I myself did, but I can still understand it.)

                  And before you know it....

People will be wanting a bug that will let them do halfling tailoring too.

Just a quick check, as of today (4/11) agnostic Vah Shir beastlord has Surefall Fletching Kit. So the token is still tradeable to non Karana toons. I wouldn't be surprised if SoE nerf this as it's letting non Karana do Karana only combine using that kit,

I think the point of this post, Grolyn, is that it's NOT letting just anyone use that kit.

Just checked it today, it has been nerfed I can still convert to token for trading and selling biut I can't do any tradeskill in Surefall Fletching Kit anymore. When I try to open the container I get a message "Your Deity cannot do tradeskill in this container" or something like that and I can only use it as a plain 8 slots box.

Back to the hard and expensive way to get 300 unless someone finds a new and cheap way.

Sorry, I tried - Don't build hordes. You may be very sad.

The EQTraders note attached to the Surefall Fletching Kit was a result of my submission. I saw the loophole and tried it myself with a SMALL batch. I strongly recommend doing the same before bulk collecting/creating materials for any combine. When I posted my results, the database gnomes only applied it to the kit. That's probably a mistake and the diety requirement SHOULD be explicit on the recipe pages for ALL combines which require the Surefall Kit.

I never tested it before Sony started the current round of tradeskill changes. I suspect there may have been a loophole with Surefall kits created when Sony added the Surefall Fletching Kit tokens. When Sony spotted it, they didn't want to take chances that people were using the kits they'd already transfered with non-Karanas characters, so they shut down the kits completely. That gave them the time to do more complex coding to add diety restrictions to tradeskill containers.

Anyhow, sorry you choked on this. I recommend smaller bites.

In fact, I discourage bulk collection in most cases because it's WAY to susceptable to the kinds of changes Sony is making now.

I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

                            Only one change needed

The only change I feel that is needed is the large brick of steel ore should cost the same amount of plat as the large brick of mithril. My halfling ranger is feeling discriminated against by the outrageous pricing on this ore by those humans I feel this is only due to jealousy and price fixing on the part of people who know halfling rangers are better

actually all halfling rangers should either be punted into plane of fear or used as the targets in sfg

i would like to know the logic behind a bow being smaller with the same resultant power for halflings compared to elves or humans say cant say magic when the components are the same, should be the offset for super starting halfling stats and 5% exp bonus, maybe only 90% archery damage muhahah
