erollisi thorn barbed arrow? do they exist

Ok, fletching isnt my strong skill, im a smither.
A friend has been begging me to find out about the erollisi thorn barbed arrow.
Does it exist yet? I dont see it here though he had a link for it (probably from the test server or something).
Im assuming that it may be made with the blessed water of erollisi which again, as of yet none of the waters have stats. Can anyone guild me in any way? is there fletching quest books similar to smithing (almost done with my 4th).

As far as the link for one is concerned, go to your local Barter Hall and use /Buy. Search for Thorn, Erollisi, or Barbed, and you'll find it easily enough. There's too many arrows listed to try searching for Arrow.

I have seen this arrow listed in the Barter Hall. We need to keep in mind that there is a possibility that this arrow may not be fletched. It might be quested or even dropped like the Shardwing Arrow.

It was 15 damage zero delay. That makes it somewhat better than the current 11 dd/ 4 cold damage arrows.

The person who linked it indicated it was made from don materials that werent easy to get.

Lucy doesn't have it in her database; I'm not convinced that this arrow has even been found/made as of yet.

I think a good place to start would be the "Erollisi Bloodthorn" mobs in Emerald Jungle and Trak's... check for any new drops.

Still might require some high-lvl drops from DoN zones... meaning Endless Quiver rangers would be prime targets.

Lucy not having it only means that if someone has it, they've not run the Lucy item collector program, to upload it into Lucy's item database.

Of course, the reason that no one's run that program to send the arrow in to Lucy could very well be that no one has the thing yet...

Well I guess the first question is this arrow is actualy in game and not just in the database. It would be be great if we could get Maddoc or someone to comment on this. Lot of time and effort may go down the drain if this is say "a dev only arrow" used for archery dps testing.

There has been a persistant rumor that we had never found the best arrow in game. This rumor started by somone at a fanfair around the time of PoP posting that a dev told him at the fair that we had never found the best arrow. This touched off a lot of work looking for it mostly centerd around some leads based on a story in the plane of justice. Nothing was ever found. If that dev realy said that maybe he was talking about this arrow.

Assuming its realy in game. All we know is its in game. We dont know the "time frame" it went into the game. We dont know how it is obtained.

Getting it well its either droped, fletched, or quested or some combo there of.
The lack of other arrows with a similar name suggets its a one off and likely droped or quested, but its always possible its fletched.

Its the time frame that I started looking at this from. The damage 15, range 150 was what intersted me. Many of the recent arrows have been range 170, or 125 or whatever, why 150 if its some uber reward arrow why not 170 or 190 or some such. I think this is an old arrow. The Gloomwaters are 10/150 the shardwing is 12/100. These date from original EQ. So it would not be at all out of the question that a 15/150 could be from the same time frame.

Looking at the name for hints, there are two well known Erollisi in the game. The Erollisi plants in kunark with names like "Erollisi Bloodthorn", "Erollisi Mantrap" these are found in Emerald Jungle and Trakanon's Teeth. The names and the big mob thorns sure makes one think of arrows. However they dont seem to drop anything that would make one.

The other option is Erollisi Mar the goddes of love, the twin of Mithanial(sp?). She was often pictured in the early EQ art with a bow and arrow. The summoned mage arrows are "Arrows of Marr". There is also the "Sisterhood of Erollisi" in the ocean of tears. Talking with folks in the isle it seems they have a decent bit of backstory. It was also discoverd in the text from the ranger plane of sky quests that there are female Erollisi rangers there as well. In the lore at least. Sky comming as Kunark was about to be launched most of the folks creating the game were still likely the same so the lore could well be connected.

All these little tid-bits lead to wondering if this arrow is not old undiscoverd content somehow related to either the Sisterhood, the plants or both. The sisterhood has "issues" with the pirates of gunthak attacking then and takeing there "Bracers of Erollisi" who make an appearance in Kunark in the Timorous Deep and in Firiona Vie, so there is a weak link from the sisterhood to kunark as well.

Its a huge pile of well conjecture lest someone use a less kind term. However I think if the arrow is in game its related there some how.

There is one other option that occurs to me that some folks where might be able to check out. In Don the frogloks get a cultural fletching kit that I know nothing about, at least they did in beta. Now given the role of the Marrs its not out of the question that this is some sort of high end froglok arrow. However I would have expected to see several like it with differnt damage and ranges in the data from the barter zone if this were the case.

Should also note that the /buyer interface does not list the DoN tradeskill items untill they have been created on your server. Since this arrow has appeared on all servers' /buyer interfaces, it is unlikely to be the result of a fletching combine. Does anyone know any lore behind the Erollisi plants names? I tend to lead toward this being a quest reward, since I suspect if it were dropped it would have been found long ago.

I'm pretty sure I know why the plants are named as they are. Erollisi is the Goddess of Love in EQ lore, analagous to Venus in Greek mythology. The best known carnivourous plant on Earth bears Venus's name, the Venus Flytrap, hence carnivourous plants in EQ being named in the same vein.
