  • Surefall Fletching Kit - still broken?

I posted in the container thread and have not received an official response. The Surefall kit is still broken - it seems. I created a new kit, and attempted to make some arrows and of course I couldn’t. Now, I don’t know if the Surefall kit is completely broken, or, if they tagged it as Ranger only (I attempted the combine with my Karana druid). I even went as far as getting a new Mark of Karana, and it still does not work.

Now, if the Surefall kit is completely broken for Rangers and Druids, I can live with that answer until it is fixed (hopefully VERY soon).

If however it is now Ranger only, why? It was never Ranger only in the past.

Is this kit working for anyone?
    Sunburnt Dmize - 80 Druid - D-Ro
    300 - Tailor +15%, Smith +12%, Fletcher +12%, Brewer +12%, JC +12%, Potter +12%, Baker +12%

    Phrump Eatsogres - 32 Gnome - D-Ro
    300 - Tinker +15%
    300 - Researcher +12%
    300 - Tailor +12%

There's a post by Absor in the general section, I think, that addresses this. It doesn't work for anybody, he knows it, and has promised to fix it in the next patch. But you'll have to make a new one.

Can this be fixed without spending more money?

Technically, if you give your fletching kit to the barbarian bag babe in bazaar, then give the token back, the result is a new kit, is it not?
I tried combining Celestial Solvent, a Raw Rough Hide, Rough Hide Solution and a Skinning Knife. But the result was such an oxymoron, it opened a rift into another universe. I fell through into one of Nodyin's spreadsheets and was slain by a misplaced decimal.

        Might not work if...

I was thinking about giving my halfling cleric's cultural kit to the bag-girl in the bazaar and then giving the token back also, but two things come to mind.

        1) Regarding the Karana Fletching Kit... is it nodrop? I have one on my Karana druid also, but I don't remember the drop/nodrop status.

        2) For droppable cultural containers, the bag-token-bag exchange would not work IF they need to replace the original cultural kits (lets say its ID# is 550) with an identically named cultural kit (lets say its ID# is 660) for game mechanics purposes. As I understand it, the bag lady gives tokens which are based on that ID#.

Please note... this is only conjecture. I have NO CLUE if this is the case, but if it is so then the only way to get the 'new' functional cultural container into the game is to change the result (and ID#) of the original combine that made the container.

It has been a while, but I believe last time I used it the fletching kit was no drop. I had to destroy it when I was done due to lack of inventory space for this reason.

          Edit: It is NO Drop:

While Absor did post in the general discussion board, he said he thought it was for rangers only. So far, I've not seen that he's acknowledged that it's for any class/race that worships Karana.

Edit: I did the exchange of Surefall Fletching Kit for token and back again. When I open it, I still get the message 'Your race cannot tradeskills in this container.'

            Bummer

Darn Mew. Of all the (rare) times for me to be correct. Well I can at least go turn in the kit for a token now (didn't know that was possible) and replace it with a 10-slot bag.

In one of the sony message board threads (located here), Absor aknowledges the kits are usable by more than just rangers. So, let's hope that next patch will fix for all.
