I was just looking at the various grand master trophies. They all have the following stats: STR +10, CHA +50, WIS + 10, INT + 10. That makes sense for everything, except for the fletching knife. Since DEX is a secondary stat for fletching, shouldn't the fletching knife have DEX instead of STR (or maybe in addition to it?)

Grandmaster Assassin's VialOriginally posted by AalarAs it is right now all of the trophies are "cookie-cutter". It would have been nice for there to have been some differentiation among the various trophies. Alas, there is none.

Rogue's get dex on their trophy, but they don't give up str for it either. What's wrong with both? Granted, Poison Making is a class exclusive skill, but that doesn't mean dex wouldn't be good to have on the trophy for the other tradeskill that has dex as a stat-check.

Heh, tried at skill 233, bought my Artisan Seal in bazaar for 4500. Well, long story short, I only bought one seal, and I've got my trophy.Originally posted by RainnmannDo many people try to make it without first maxing fletch? So would the dex actually be usefull? I wouldnt mind it on there for the last few points to get to 250 though =P. (Max being 241 plus gearlock

Actually, it would make more sense if the Trophies were no-fail combines but skill restricted to 250+ modified skill.
As they are now, with a very high fail rate and an obscene cost involved in making them, they are pretty much worthless garbage.
Buy a Haversack and 2 +25 CHA mugs. (Items you can resell for what you bought them for when you dnt need/want them anymore; youre stuck with a crummy trophy forever.)
(And if youre dumb enough to put anything valuable in a no-rent bag, then you deserve to lose what you put in there)

Question along these lines: Is it my imagination but weren't trophies supposed to be equippable in the ammo slot, not for stats, but for tradeskill mod? Even though Magelo says my trophy is ammo-equippable, I swear my fletching trophy does not go in the ammo slot, and while I do nowadays use DEX for fletching, so the change would be nice for me personally, I'd get more DEX if I could put the trophy in ammo slot and have other DEX items in my other three slots.
Am I just imagining this?Andyhre playing Guiscard, 78th-level Ranger, E`ci (Tunare)
Master Artisan (2100 Club), Wielder of the Fully Functional Artisan's Charm, Proud carrier of the 8th shawl
with occasion to call upon Gnomedeguerre, 16th-level Wizard, Master Tinker, E`ci (Tunare)
and in shouting range of Vassl Ofguiscard, 73rd-level Enchanter, GM Jewelcrafter, E`ci (Tunare)

Thank you for the info Nolrog.
So, any word on making them actually worth around the 10-12k (plus the cost of skilling a trade to 240ish) it costs to make em?
They are now worthless as any sort of proof of 250 skill (you have titles for that now). The stats are... definately not worth 10k on any server to put it mildly. The free 100% wr bag weighs 0.2 more then a Tink bag, 0.6 more then a Haversack (which costs 5k to buy.. and you can SELL it for 5k as well)...
Grr... im going over this again. It wont get changed. Trophies will be junk forever. Theres been no interest keeping trophies as anything but a plat sink and something to keep economies moving around somewhat.

Just the fact that someone has a trophy, doesn't prove that they are 250 though. I made mine at 220. I have read stories of people making them at 200, or even 190 (I guess someone felt adventurous.) Also keep in mind that Maddoc did indicate that there is the possibility for caps to be raised in the future, which would make the trophies useful again (more useful than a geerlok, IMO, because of the stats in addition to the skill modifier.)Originally posted by splungeThey are now worthless as any sort of proof of 250 skill (you have titles for that now).

Trophies are not useless!
My 29 druid has the fletching trophy equipped in his range slot. My 56 chanter has the JC trophy in her range slot. While I could find a better item for my chanter for that slot, I'm doubting that I could find a better range item for my druid at his current level.
And Neither of those two characters has a 250 skill; their skills are in the low 240's.
