What Are Elemental Bows?

I was told that I could make and use elemental bows for tribute master.

However, I am not sure which bows are elemental.

I checked up on "elemental bows", but they are obviously called something else.

Elemental bows are ones which use ingredients that come from the elemental planes. I believe Stonewood, Primordial Driftwood and Obsidianwood are all elemental.

However, any item can be turned in for tribute so don't just get stuck on these

Thanks. It is not so much that I am stuck on them, I was told that was the most bang for your buck.

Of course, if I can find other stuff, I will use that as well.

I used tribute last night, and it was incredible.

Should note that Elemental bows also sell between 50k-150k a piece depending on your server (Prices vary widely depending on availability)

Damudge, I'd be interested in hearing if they really are more bang for your buck if you try one. On my server the cheapest one runs about 30k and thats a lotta bang already

Considering I just spent my money on mana regen items and spells, a 30k bow is out of consideration.

Don't forget nightmarewood compound bow's

I thought Nightmarewood was just Planar, but not Elmental. It doesn't require anything from Fire, Water, Earth, or Air, does it?

Right now, my 56 ranger has one, and has an elemental bow (Primordial I think) for when he hits 61, which is the required level.

I can't wait.

Interestingly, Omens has led to a lot more XP grinding in earth, apparently, as the rare item to make the Stonewood, Vegerog Vine, has shown up with greater frequency in the Bazaar of late. It used to be that rarely would two merchants have it, and rarely were they less than 5K (and often much higher). Recently I saw 10 for sale at 2K each and even a few more under 2K.

Add to this that hard-core fletchers, who used to fail ~48% of the time, can now use AAs to lower the fail rate and to salvage supplies to make failure less costly.

As a result (and also helped by the fact that some new bows are dropping which are close to comparable), the supply of stonewoods for sale has gone way up, and thus, the price has dropped. I have seen Stonewoods offered in trader mode on E'ci at 20K and people /auctioning for 18K.

Interestingly, the supply of the other key ingredients, the e'cian ice, fiend guts, and featherwood bow staff (and wind metal) seems more or less unchanged. So the other bows have now increased in frequency. Presumably they suffer some price cuts b/c a close substitute just dropped, but I have not noticed any serious downward trend.

So, while the idea of tributing an elemental bow before ever ranger I know gets one makes me sick, if you *were* going to tribute one, the stonewood might be your best bet. The recipe isn't too hard (i.e. it's not complicated - the trivial is 335 so it's "hard" in that sense), though having a GM tinker makes it easier.

The rare item is actually the bow staff. We get 10 vines for every bow staff when we clear the plane. Most people don't know that, because they kill at the zone and get some staves and no vines.

So the other bows have now[t?] increased in frequency. I have not noticed any serious downward trend.

I am sure that this varies by server and people involved in the bazaar. On my server, Obsidianwoods are the most common and cheapest at bazaar sale, followed closely by water bows. All but Stonewoods have declined hugely in price since OOW.

This market is manipulatable right now, should someone take it into thier mind to work it. Dropping 30 elemental bows onto a trader one day would cause the price to plummet far below the tribute value temporarily. I could easily do this if I wanted to, and I am sure that someone with a more nefarious mindset and uberguild resources might find it fun to wreck thier server economy.
