Just looking down the list of what I might go through to skill up, and I'm noting generally the higher the trivial the higher the price, except for this step.. After 162, one could go with silver ttipped to skill up to its trivial of 182.. or do you just skip that and use ceramic vane to 202 including 162 to 182, since it costs less?

I went Ceramic...
Used to be, back when I went from 162 to 202, you could make "Field Point-Wood Shaft-Ceramic Vane-Large Nock" to skill up to 202. The vendors would pay enough money on the buy-back that you could at least break even if not make a few plat, as long as you have good faction and didn't fail a whole lot.
Things have changed and I don't know which is the better route now. But for the sake of making things easier, I'd say just go Ceramic Vane the whole way, unless the cost is that much lower to make the Silver Tipped arrows.Buchalter Iceraven

Depends on what you want to do with the finished product. If you want to just skill up and sell back to vender do the vanes. If you want to skill up and shoot the arrows or sell to players make the silver tip. Also one thing to consider the silver tip make ten per attempt. I think the ceramic vane only make 5 so the costs are not eqivilent. I never made the vanes, myself as i shoot all i make.

this is what I did from 162.
(182) Silver + Wood + Round + Large *yields 10 arrows per success so lose very little plat
(202) Field + Wood + Ceramic Vanes + Larg *stack will cost about 69pp sell back of full sucess yields about 64ppBrewing (300 + master trophy) Fletching (300 + master trophy) Baking (300 + master trophy) Tailoring (300 + master trophy) Pottery (300 + master trophy) Jewel Craft (300 + master trophy) Blacksmithing (300 + master trophy) Research (300 + master trophy)
