    Hello fellow fletchers,
I lurk here a lot but never post. After trying acrylia arrows and Karana cultural arrows and being disgusted with the skillup rate, I had all but given up on fletching. After reading some of the posts here yesterday I decided to try the Darkwood bow(stave and hemp string) combines to 215 and see how it went. Here is my data:

    Skillup.........Combines/...Successes/..Failures.....Cost
    206.......................5/...............5/..........0........110p 1g 9s 0c
    207.......................8/...............8/..........0........176p 3g 0s 4c
    208.......................4/...............4/..........0..........88p 1g 5s 2c
    209.....................25/.............23/..........2........960p 4g 9s 2c
    210.....................19/.............19/..........0........418p 7g 2s 2c
    211.....................17/.............17/..........0........374p 6g 4s 6c
    212.....................30/.............30/..........0........661p 1g 4s 0c
    213.....................12/.............12/..........0........264p 4g 5s 6c
    214.......................5/...............5/..........0........110p 1g 9s 0c
    215.....................52/.............50/..........0......1555p 5g 1s 8c

    Total.................177/...........173/..........4......4719p 8g 1s 0c

I used geerlok and had 280 Dex, 181 Wis. The 181 wisdom leads me to agree that wis/int does not affect successes. But the higher of wis/int/dex affects skillups. Each success cost me 22p,0g,3s,8c and each failure cost me 226p,8g,0s,9c.

Are these costs for failures and successes still accurate? Cuz I'm starting to think that this might be easier than shadow and acrylia farming.

After doing fletching to 227 with my original main with only acrylia tipped and cultural arrows then my new main taking the bow route to 235 and acrylia arrows afterward I'd definately suggest you carry on with the bow route for longer.

Whilst it is fairly expensive, particulary if you farm a lot or have good server prices on acrylia/condensed I find it was much quicker in skill up rate and less painful. It helps if you have a friendly gnome as the cams will need to be stockpiled and are a fair bit cheaper if tinkered (12ish pp or so each) than if you were to buy them.
