Favorite Places To Fish

Hi all,

Just stopped leveling in Fishing yesterday in EK (woo hoo! 200!), and I was thinking about my favorite places to cast a rod and have a brew. Two of my favorite locations are:

EK - My favorite spot is down by the southern barbarian village on the dock. Very quiet and you get to watch the waterfall. The foraging in EK is great (love those teas and pebbles). And for fun, you can beg the fisherwoman as you fish (until she starts attacking you after you've had one too many short beers and have trouble running away And of course you get the Thunder Salmon...for those expensive pottery combines.

Al'Akon - Near the loom/tailoring merchants to the left as you enter the first large cavern. The loom is close enough to the water so that you can tailor and fish at the same time. There is a clockwork merchant near the shore so you can practice your begging too. And the Clockwork Koi make the Clockwork essence for all those embroidery needles you have Whenever I need to tailor, I always come here and fish and work.

Zachariah Reigh's island in OOT, because there are shops with everything you need there if you run out of bait, break a pole (I have a Fisherman's Companion, so that's not a problem) or catch a lot of junk. Its better than Sister Isle, because you don't have to watch the Sisters smack around that Rogue pirate every time he pops, and the merchants on Sister Isle don't carry tackleboxes and hooks. (But making lures is a waste of time and materials, anyway......)

By necessity I fish a ton on Seafury Island in OOT, usually just about anywhere on the shoreline I happen to feel like.

Soothing ocean waves, gunthak mackerel in case you run out of bait and those ever so important saltwater seaweeds

My druid likes Cobalt Scar. She is still "threateningly" to the Wyverns, so the danger adds spice to her fishing.

Plane of Storms and Plane of Valor and Plane of Tranquility all have some really beautiful, idyllic settings, where you don't have to worry about getting killed.

The rear of Felwithe is pretty nice, with plenty of NPCs standing around the water's edge (perhaps to beg from). Also there's an oven facing the lake, and jewelry merchants. That's where I went when I wanted to max fishing, begging, evocation, and sense heading at the same time, but that was before PoP.

Gunthak and OOT and Cobalt scar are good spots because they have the most useful fishes, but that doesn't make them favorites.

my new favorite place now is plane of nightmare by the river as you enter the zone you take a right about 100 feet theres nice waterfall that runs into a small river/stream. awsome place to fish. the excitment if any is the raven blood, spiders, trees and such that might argo you if you near them. catch a lot of crawdads and nighmare fish, believe it or not theres still some rusty knife and tattered sandals. think it must be from folks who drowned or got killed there. wonder why we dont fish up any skels remain or bones...from dead folks.
but so far thats my new favorite place to fish now. before was cobalt scar and fv.

My favorite places are a rock near outter in valor, and a spot near the lake in wc (where if you line up right you can see nothing but the nice pretty scene of the lake and the trees). Mostly anyplace that's pretty and quiet and calm I like.

I’ve been trying to raise my shaman’s fishing skill whenever I can find the time. Since he can’t forage, I’m more interested in what kind of fish are in the water. My shaman’s favorite spot is in Ak'Anon. If you turn left when you reach the water and then pass the soul binder you’ll come to a small dock. Its very quite there, with nice music playing in the background and a vendor selling fishing bait right behind you. My kitty sits at the end of the dock with his toes dangling in the water and tried to catch a stack of clockwork koi. He never manages to catch a full stack before he has to leave, but it’s his goal. And if he ever finds any embroidery needles on a merchant he’s all set to turn them into clockwork needles.

My favourite places to fish are Cobalt Scar for the Cod and PON as the zone is eerie
