Sewer Catfish?

I'm fishing skill 200 and have been sat in West Cabilis for two hours now, East Cabalis for one. I have three no-drop gigantic bass. I have every weight of Fetid Bass imaginable. I have tiny, large and humoungous fetid bass with varying weights (weird!). I even caught fresh fish.

I have yet to see a catfish.

Can someone confirm that they have actually seen a Sewer Catfish there with their own eyes? Because I am starting to doubt the existence of this beast.

I befriended a young iksar when I was in Cabalis and initiated him into the joys of fishing.

He has since been living off of Fetid Bass (poor love) and reports that he has yet to see a Sewer Catfish.

If other master fishers (perhaps some not KOS there like I am :P) would like to nip over and test this, it would be great, as I'm seriously starting to suspect this fish is not there.

I fished there for hours, in both Cabilis zones. Caught several of every type of fish from tiny thru humongous, but no sewer catfish. I don't think it's fishable.

Rare

The Sewer Catfish is very rare. I have lvled 3 Iksars fishing in Cabilis and I have only cought one Sewer Catfish.

How long ago was this? I.e. did you catch one at all recently? I have had an iksar there fishing and none to be seen ... but if they are really "very rare" i will keep trying.

I don't think it's fishable anymore. In the Quests Requiring Tradeskills, the person who actually completed the sandwich had them in the bank from who knows how long ago. I spent .. much too long.. fishing today and caught everything imaginable (23 types of bass, and some iksar daggers) and didn't find a single one.

I say that with some certainty because there are players here, on allakhazam, at the safehouse, and in the unsolved quests forums all fishing for this thing and not one of them has come up with it. I'd guess the number of fish pulled out of Cabilis since the patch are numbering in the thousands or we'd have seen the "I SOLVED IT!!" thread by now.

I dug out an old alt Iksar (who has 1 sewer catfish in the bank from years ago) and thought I'd see what this quest finally gave.
Well I found out.
It gives a headache.
My iksar started with a fishing skill of 68 and by the time I gave up it was up to 102.
Here's a break down of what I caught in East Cabilis

That's 249 fish not including all the sandals, rusty daggers, Iksar Phalanges, lost bait and spilled beer I went through.

I then went over to West Cabilis and drowned another 60 worms in That zone with no luck.

WTG Sony, fix one part of the quest and break another.

I fished the exact same fish in Firiona Vie,

with zero sewer catfish.

I also bugged it under /quest and "can repeat."
I explained some background and how the honey mush bread
is now in the game, but the sewer catfish is now never caught
in either of the three possible zones, even after 3 hours of fishing or more, even by anyone of 100 or 200 skill or more.

Awesome, Denmom, cause my curiosity is peaked.

But, on the up side, if you hang on to those larger fetid bass...they fill you up. I actually go thru food a LOT slower if I'm eating them. I tried to force-feed a couple to clear out space, and got a message that I couldn't possibly eat anymore.

It's the Cabilis version of the all-you-can-eat salad bar :P

I have no idea what the ranking is, like one is hearty and one is banquet. I assume that banquet is the biggest? Of course there is also "A feast!" So that might be larger than banquet? I bet there is a post on this in the baking forum or some guide here?

There's a long thread on meal durations somewhere with various people posting the length of time they got off a meal and working out the variables. If I get time, I'll look it up.

Meanwhile, from the FAQ, the order is:

snack, meal, hearty meal, banquet, feast, enduring meal, miraculous meal

IIRC, miraculous meal is around 3 hours.
