  • Fishing skill ups

I was wondering if you get fishing skill-ups from making prepared fish or the Blessed Fishing Pole?

I just started fishing in OoT for saltwater seaweed last night. only caught 6 in 2 hours I do have the fishermans companion btw.

Yes you do, but obviously, neither is cheap. I found that the best route for me was to head for a zone with good fish and good forages, and a fishing vendor, and just kill a coupla hours. I might be mistaken, but I noticed jacking up my WIS seemed to help skill up rates.

My recommendation for the ultimate zone to go to raise skill: EK. Vendor selling poles (which you don't need) and bait (which you might need if you can't forage) at the base of the hill in the centre of the zone, you can forage tea leaves (which you can sell if you don't brew), and fish up thunder salmon (which you can then fillet for more potential skill ups). I found that going from 180 - 200 there took me an hour or two, I got 2 stacks of tea leaves, and about an even proportion of Thunder Salmon and Fresh Fish, with Fish Scales totalling about 2/3's of the fish count (2 scales, 3 Fresh fish, 3 Thunder Salmon per 8 catches - usually the other 2 out of 10would be rusty dagger/sandal catches, but I didn't keep them [traditional tradeskiller problem of no space], so I can't say for certain).

More of an answer than you wanted, I'm sure, but I hope it helps,

Thanks Friend. Sure wish I could forage. Buying roots is a bummer.
