  • LoY Fish - Sales Values = Good Plat?

Saw a post on Allakhazam claiming the new LoY fishies could be sold for 4 gold each (with a counter post that it was actually 8 Gold!) Any avid tradeskillers have insights into these values.

Was wondering because sometimes certain lower level peeps come begging for money and if these values are true I'll be happy to now tell them "Go grab a fishing pole and earn some money!" When it's a few silver per fish or dagger, even with a huge return on investment of a few cp per bait and covering the cost of the pole, not many will bother. If it IS closer to almost a plat per fish . . . . they can go jump in a lake (and fish while there! I might even join them some time while working on skill ups after leveling!)

As a follow-on I have gone fishing in Gunthark and can confirm that with indifferent faction and 134 Charisma I have been offered 9g 5s 2c for the following fished items:

    Moray Eel
    Ovate Jellyfish
    Deep Sea Urchin

So this could be a gold mine for a lowbie who needed some cash. Would certainly beat sitting by lake in Felwithe and getting 2s 4c per fresh fish!

Just an observation, forgive me if it is slightly uninformed.

You're showing zone specific fish, isn't fishing level restricted to 5xlvl+5?

So a lvl 5-6 would rarely get the 'jackpot' fish... but it might be nice. I'd be more interested in their sell value to players, for whatever they are made for.

Just to give you a ballpark figure

        1 hour fishing, skill 132 - 144

Cha 142, indifferent merchant, did not keep rusty daggers and tattered sandals.

        47pp, 8gp, 8sp, 5cp

Includes bait purchased but not poles. (I used summoned poles)

I thought fishing wasn't level restricted?

Fishing skillups are level-restricted. What fish you catch are NOT level/skill restricted, however, you have a far smaller chance of catching something, and a far greater chance of breaking your pole, when your skill is low.

I have been fishing constantly In Gulf of Guntak and all the special catches bring me 9g 8s. The price obviously is based on charisma and reaction by the NPC's. I went from 101 to 186 very quickly there and now am Baking up a storm with the various new fishies available :P

If you are a foraging class/race , then you can forage while you fish.

Almost all Special forages, save for the Gunthak Water, are worth 5-9 gold with appropriate charisma.
