I just had an interesting idea for a GM event... A Fishing Tournament
GM could call people to a zone and then have a contest to see who can catch the most of some kind of fish in the next 30/60/90 minutes. The winner gets a special token that can be combined with an artisan's seal to make (you guessed it) a trophy. The token would need to be returned on failure since the winner still deserves a trophy, but just has to pay for it again.
Just about everyone i know in RL that does sport fishing has some kind of trophy. Why not in EQ?
It'd take a little bit of coding work to make sure that the fish that people bring as a evidence of their fishing were actually caught by them durring the contest. Maybe it could be some kind of NoDrop/NoRent fish that only spawn in the waters during the contest and prior to the start of the event, any instances of that fish in someone's inventory will poof. Or maybe it can be set up like one of those tasks that count how many times you loot something.
