  • What tradeskill goes with fishing?

My newbie, Iksar, Necro, has just started fishing. Since you can't become a GM fisher, I was wondering what skill her fishing would most help with. (Probably cooking but want to make sure.)

Yep, baking. Course, I like to take my fishing time to kick up the alcohol tolerance skill too!

Brewing is also a good one, since you can brew many fish into special tannins or oils.

In order of the most recipes to least recipes:
Baking - this is the one that makes the most sense and will be the most cost-effective re-use of your fish.
Brewing - A lot of fish can be turned into oils and whatnot that are useful in other tradeskills (smithing, tailoring, brewing, baking, pottery).
Fletching - Certain fish can be boned, and those bones can in turn be fletched into darts

Even better is that the boning process can help you get some of those higher Fishing skill levels....

The most obvious would be brewing to me.
Beer + fishing pool = hangover
Great way to get that A. Tolerance capped
If you are trying to be "pratical" then go with baking.

Fishing is for fishings sake. Why must one need a reason to go fishing But of corse baking fish is the next best thing, brewing fish... Mmmm fish sauce comes to mind, but thats just what happens to old bait left in your coat pocket for the winter and re-discovered in the spring... but I degress
{mmm drools over Parts} Ugh never get a DE as an assistant cook, shudder.

                    Mel nailed it ...

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day,

Teach him to fish and he'll sit on a boat all day getting drunk.
