About a year ago i was in need of massive amounts of thunder salmon. i orgi****ed a guild event where i supplied the bait, polls and all the beer my guildies could use.
i have he tell you it was a great time and lots of fun. i had about 50 people show up and i gave prizes to the top three thunder salmon turn ins.
i yealded 40 stacks of thunder salmon in about a hour and a half. some of the people had never fished before. about half way through the event people started /shouting and /ooc what is up with everyone fishing. well if you stop and think about it 50 people fishing by the bridge in North Karana would cause people running through the zone to wonder what was going on. someone in the party decided to link a fungi tunic in ooc and say that the river was bugged and we were catching various items like epics, fungi tunics, mana stones J-Boots ETC. all were being linked in /ooc.
in about 20 minutes there were about 250 people all up and down the river fishing. it was a mad house everyone was linking all these items that we were "catching" and others were shouting asking what bait we were using because all they were catching was stupid shoes and rusty daggers. i can not think of another time that i laughed so hard playing this game.
it just goes to show you that if you need alot if items enlist the aid of some of your friends, bring a bunch of beer and have fun. remember to give away a few prizes.
total cost for the event was about 100pp
some of my friends took to fishing for fun all because of that event.
