Crab Traps in Human Form....Help

Please help......the Crab Traps under the boat in Abysmal Sea are in Human Form. A while back my bear pet and enchanter illusions were in Human Form. Back then I deleted a file called texture and rebooted.....it fixed problem.
But i tried that and the Crab Traps are still in Human Form. My bear pet and enchanter illusions work fine.....but the Crab Traps still are in Human Form.
Can anyone assist please.

start eq do not load into game click advanced button check all the expansions you own do a through file check problem fixed

I did that advanced thing and I even deleted all my txc files as per some guy who had same problem..............but the Crab Traps are still in Human Form. I can hit /open and it appears like the Human dies and when i loot him i am actually opening the Crab Trap.
What are the Crab Traps supposed to look like?
Has this happened to any of you? Is it a bug by Sony or my computer?
Should I delete entire EQ file and reload all expansions?

Hmm - for a really long time everything on Kunark looked like humans to me - I was quite surprised to see what they mobs actually looked like. (And I had to completely reinstall EQ to fix it - I hope you don't have to.)

The crab traps look like plain wooden boxes - you aren't missing anything by them looking human in fact it sounds kind of nifty.

We should have "speak like a pirate day" in EQ! We missed the real one - something like September 24th.

try deleting the zone files and re-downloading them?

Help

If I have to delete and re-install EQ...........how do I install LOY and Gates of Discord since I did not have them on disk, I downloaded them from Sony.
How would I download them again if they are already purchased?

Your account will look for any missing files from any expansions you have, and download them. This means it'll automatically download any expansions you've downloaded before if the files are missing.

One thing I'd suggest before you do this is to turn off the Texture Cache and log in and see if that helps. If it does, log back out, turn back on the Cache and check again.

Crap Traps

So far nothing worked, so I may re-install EQ totally.
One thing that is funny about this......when a Crab Trap only has a rusty dagger in it, you know in advance since the "Human Form Crab Trap" has a dagger in his hand. When you hit /open the Human yells out like you are killing him, he then dies and his corpse looks twisted and he has this sick expression on him. You then loot him like you just killed an npc, and there is the rusty dagger you saw him holding.
But when the other Trap had a 9lb Crab in it....you could not tell by looking at the Human. Hr appeared to be holding nothing.
Before I had this new problem.....my old problem was pets looked like tiny humans. That was sick looking. I guess if I cannot correct this it is not the worst thing.
I heard some folks with this problem at Dragons looking like Humans as well.

I'd recommend deleting every file with abysmal in the name (i.e., the above suggestion about deleting zone files) and let the game re-patch them down to you. It might do the trick.

Checking with tech support is a good idea as well.

I uninstalled my entire EQ and then re-installed EQ......the Crab Traps are STILL in Human form.
Could it be because i have all expansions except LDON?
Or because i dont have the latest Direct X downloaded?

It's Fixed!!!!
I downloaed Direct X 9.0 and then I puchased LDON....the Crab Traps are the wooden crates now.

just a heads up. I had the same issue with Velious. everything looked like a human. I had to unistall (delete) JUST the Velious files.. not the whole game. Its been working great since then.

I figured deleting the whole game would work but it didnt.....but adding LDON ad Direct X 9.0 worked for some reason
Not sure which part worked, but i did both at same time.

That happened to my gf's beasty, while in Kael. Giants all were human form.. and freekin huge, i must say.

It was kinda cool as you could tell which ones has those Giant Warrior Helms (the faction ones) as the humans had those helms on.
