  • Cobalt Scar fishing

I just went through 10 stacks of bait and no broken poles to go from skill 103 to 134 while fishing for cobalt cod in cobalt scar. I ended up with 25 cod, 25 snapper, and about 50 fresh fish. I hope to make it back soon to get that fishing skill up even more.

My one "mistake" was in not bringing more bait.

I went to Cobalt Scar when my fishing was only 2, with 8 fishing poles and several 10 slot backpacks full of bait and these were my observations for fishing over 2 days.
      1. Skill ups were very easy, got to 150 in 2 days.
      2. Didn't catch ANY Cobalt Cod until my skill was 140, so assumed catching the cod was skill level based, but others have told me this is not so.Also my 1st pole broke at 140, wierd eh!
      3. Catch about 3 cod per hour, catch lots of fresh fish and lots of dragon bay snapper, plus the usual junk.

I am down to my last pole and a couple of packs of bait and are just dreading for when the pole finally breaks.
My question is, do you catch more cod per hour with a higher skill?
How many would I expect to catch per hour at 200 skill?

      Cheers

Cebi - I bought 100 Catch-A-Lot Bait and headed out to CS.

I didn't time myself but at a 200 Fishing Skill I landed 13 Cobalt Cods. No Modifier used.

I have gone back now with my fishing about 150, and with 8 stacks of bait I end up with just over a stack of cobalt cod, just over a stack of dragon bay snapper, and about 4 stacks of fresh fish. I started catching cod when my skill was still in the 120 range at about the same rate that I do now

              Cod not skill limited.

Though it would certainly seem to be skill based.

I started fishing in CS at 7 skill. I got the 7 cod I needed
at the time before I had 55 skill. Not certain when I caught
the first one, but it was before 30.

While a higher skill may give you a higher chance for success, there is no minimum skill required to catch the Cod. I've taken friends with me to CS to help fish for Cod. Some have gotten their very first skillup while there and have caught Cod!
