  • Anyone notice lower failure rates???

Im a lvl 53 GM brewer with trophy and 255 wis. Earlier tonite I was making coldain heaters to make velium tempers. Made 8 stacks and had 8 failures or 5%, this is the same failure rate id experienced before the supposed decreased failure rate on triv items patch. Has anyone experienced similar results?

Well, this is not about brewing, but I did some baking over the past couple of days. My baking skill is at 230 right now with WIS 275, and I still get the same percent of failure rates as before. I mean .. for crying out loud, I failed on making a clump of dough two days ago.

But then again, maybe I'm just extremly unlucky hehe.

Hmmm... I'm fairly sure making clumps of dough are trivial under 30. :P

The no fail should be only on 200 point trivial items. (which dough is)

For the first poster, Coldain Heaters trivial at 158. That's less than 100 points trivial. I would expect no change at all in that failure rate.

We don't know where the sliding scale for fewer fails kicks in. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say it's scaled between 100 and 200, with items falling in that range having a lower chance of failure the closer you get to 200 points trivial.

Honestly, anything that's trivial over 150 I would expect to never have a better chance of success. The minimum 5% fail will always be in effect on them.

I brewed 5 stacks of Heady Kiolas for a guildmate without a failure at 250 +5%. This would jive with the 200 points below current effective skill. I would be curious to know whether this applies to the mythical 252/255 hardcap or or whether the 200 points below trivial allows us to take advantage of the full effective skill of 262.5... The only things I could see with trivials between 50 and 62 (which could be used to test this) are bearskin potion bags (inconvenient for large testing runs) or studded leather or studded hopperhide. Any 250 tailors out there wanna check this out for us? (only brewing recipe in the correct range is Egg Nog xxx).

I am wondering if anyone has noticed the reverse - higher failure rates at skill levels not significantly over the trivial? I don't have a lot of data on this, so maybe I've just been unlucky lately, but...

Yesterday I was making heady kiolas. With a skill of 62 (this was an alt), I saw a failure rate of about 25% consistently while making 18 stacks. As I recall, I would expect closer to 10% failure rate at that point.

Currently, I am fishing in the PoK pond. I fish here a lot, to use up foraged bait. Normally I see about 5% sandals and daggers at my skill of ~185. Tonight I am getting close to 50% sandals and daggers!

Has anyone else seen similar results?

At 192 brewing I made 100 soda water and no fails.
              I thought that was cool.

                  Nope!!!

I found I got more fails.

I've been brewing jum jum beer at skill 200 for ages, and get about 1 or maybe 2 fails from 10. Now I'm at 250, I seem to get 3 and sometimes 4 fails.

I have noticed no significant change in brewing success rates. I have 250 skill and trophy. About 10% failure rate making heady kiolas since the patch. Between 5 and 15% failure rate making coldain heaters.
