  • Another drinking ceiling?

OK, it's been confirmed that alcohol tollerance is level limited for some reason.

It would also appear that there are temporary caps (either that, or I've hit one heck of a hell level) - at level 46, my troll SK is not capable of drinking his way past 180 skill.

Anyone else notice this problem, or am I simply having a bad run of drinking?

I have had some *REALLY* bad, generic store-brand Vodka.

It tasted worse then you can imagine, and refused to go down...I had less then half a shot before refusing to touch the silly stuff.

        i dont think so

Well my ranger is level 40 and his AT is 197, so I don't think its level limited, but I will say that at times it has taken me over 2 stacks of Faydwer shakers to get even one skill up in tolerance.....(not that I'm complaining about having to drink more often ).

I think ya just in a bad spot with the Random Number generator there friend.

OK, wasn't sure if I'd found another cap or not - just wanted to make sure.

As for bad drinking sessions in RL - unfortunately, you don't get a message noting "You can't possibly get any more drunk" until you discover that you can't even get the shot glass to your mouth, much less get yourself off of the floor and back onto the couch again.

how does AT effect you in game? do some mobs cast stuuf that AT is used to check against it?

or does it just let you drink other stuff other than water and possible reduce the "drunk " effect and stat loss?

It allows you to drink without or with a lessened drunken effect (the shakey screen). It was supposed to help the melee classes out, take a drink str/sta go up, but nobody does anymore that I've seen.

Folks don't use AT because it shreds your attack offense and defense skills to the point that the few extra hitpoints and STR points you get are moot.

Folks drink now for fun and bragging rights.

I think AT is capped by the same formula as most other skills, lvl*5+5. So at lvl 39 you can reach 200 AT. It is hard to get those final 20ish points though, especially on a melee character with low wis/int, and it doesn't get easier since those stats get lowered by drinking.... I've tried to raise AT by taking a sip every now and then rather than belching down two stacks of beer, and am currently at 191 AT....

Aye, Best way to skill up AT is to take a sip every now and then, No major drinking

Wouldn't it make more sense to only take a sip, instead of guzzling a stack of Ginesh?

When you repeatedly drink, you lower both your Int and Wis, therefore each consecutive attempt at drinking reduces your AT skill check. Unless AT checks versus Strength or Stamina only, having AT lower your reasoning stats might explain why you see so few learns after the room starts to spin.

I've had my Druid go from 235 wisdom to 46, it took so long for the Alcohol to wear off.

I usually bind in bazaar right at the arena, get straight tore down, then walk out and get killed. Dieing gets rid of drunkenness. Rinse, repeat.
