jumjum stalks

Ok, I am a bit confused now.

I thought jumjum stalks were foraged/dropped from that brownie in Rivervale - ONLY.

However, I've seen posts that they are merchant-sold, one poster said in Rivervale, another said Shadowhaven.

Are they just on merchants because others have sold the foraged/dropped stalks to the merchants? Or are they indeed routine merchant stock, like bottles and corks?

Nillipus drops Jumjum stalks for a quest in Rivervale.

Nub foraged at all.

There's actually 3 types of jumjum, any of which work for making the beer.

Vendor sold jumjum mentioned above. (id's as "jumjum stalk")

Nillipus dropped jumjum (id's as "Nillipuss' jumjum" or something.)

Ground spawn jumjum in the garden outside the druids guild (id's as stolen jumjum stalk)

Aluaeia - correct, but the easiest (and safer) way is just buying it from Shadowhaven.

Arakni - It's been fun, but by this weekend I'll be back home to Povar. Hubby decided he doesn't want to pay for my $40 Legends habit.

Not that this really has any bearing on the question at hand, but the jumjum stalk found in the garden is part of the quest. Nillipus does not spawn with any jumjum. As he makes his way around Rivervale he’ll pick up any jumjum he finds on the ground. This turns into the jumjum you loot off the little brownie when you kill him. And only the looted jumjum can be used for the quest. A long time ago when I was reading up on it, people posted that they would drop jumjum on the ground in front of him so they could loot multiple stalks, as I think the quest calls for four stalks. He does spawn with jumjum. I've killed killed him after he spawns in front of me (newest spawn on tracking) and he's dropped jumjum.

Actually Aluaeia and Calabar your both right. He does occasionlly spawn with Jum Jum and he does pick up the Jum Jum in the garden near the druid guild.

Mobs that pick stuff off the ground will NOT drop it when you kill them. Any jum jum he has on death were from being spawned with them. You can test this by dropping something cheap like fishing grubs during a battle, you will see the message that they pick it up. It will NOT be on them when you loot them.

Mind you that I haven't killed Nillipus in a long time but when I was doing that quest, I have seen him not have jumjums on him when I kill him before he gets to the patch several times. I have killed him after he picks up the ground spawn jumjum and he always dropped the quest jumjum. Also, I had dropped the ground spawn jumjum in front of him on his way to the patch and he picks it up and when you kill him, he does drop the jumjum you need for the quest.

On another note, when PotC first came out, it was said that the store bought jumjums did not work in making picnics. I spent hours killing Nillipus for measly few jumjums to make the picnics. It took forever before someone said store bought works fine. :shock:
