  • Best place to make Faydwer shakers?

    Hi,

I'm building up brewing right now (far off goal of perhaps doing my own Tainted Avalanche Ale combine), and think that Faydwer Shakers are probably the easiest next step (going all store-bought). I was wondering where the most convenient place to do the brewing was. East Freeport has all the ingredients fairly close by, but faction issues make it a big pain in the butt. Also, ideally it would be great if there was a place that had everything in one spot where faction didn't play a big role: brew barrel, casks, mead, elven wine, dwarf ale, and gnomish spirits. Any suggestions?

Yeah, would be nice to know... my Freeport faction went bye-bye. Anyone?

I concur with Tobin; Highpass Hold is one of the best places to brew up Faydwer Shakers. Just head to the Serpent's Supply, the large wooden building by the river with the big porch, and there's a brew barrel right inside. The barkeep sells the casks, and the man up the stairs behind him sells the hard liquor.

The main problem with brewing in Highpass is that it's well known to be a good place to brew in, so you may have some competition, or itchy people hovering around. Or you could just be polite and exchange turns on combine runs. No matter how many backpacks you're carrying you can't do more than 60-70 combines before running out of space; **** those non-stacking casks.

And ignore the sounds of gnolls being slaughtered outside the walls. They're not too bright. Or maybe they just want some brew.

          How about in Kelethin?

How about in Kelethin....sure you have to do a bit of running back and forth, but its not too far to go between shops and the brew barrel.

And you have the personal satisfaction that your Faydwer Shakers were actually brewed in Faydwer!!

            Skyshrine.

Just go behind the lil' secret wall to the bar. All the vendors you need are in the same room.

Unfortunately, Faydwer Shaker seems to be the ONLY thing you can make here. Its a very odd bar.

                Kelethin Trade Supplies

Actually, while EQ Traders only lists Barkeep Aanlawen (Tavern 603, 688) as having gnomish spirits... however, when I skilled from 142 to 188 in Faydwer Shakers..... he also had Dwarven Ale and Elven Wine available. I don't know if this is because of someone selling it to him or if it's now part of his regular inventory. That was today (12-17-02).

Barkeep Tuviena (between Pod Lift and Bank) platforms) sold mead and casks.

I like to try and do as many tradeskills as possible in Kelethin so that I can forage MDews at the same time. Kinda adds a little more monotony into skilling up, but at least it pays well.

                  HHP worked well

Went to HHP Monday to get those last 20 points to 188 finally (only been a year =)

HHP works very well, one vendor has the 3 racial brews (upstairs), the other (behind bar) has the mead and casks. I would brew up 20 shakers, then sell the bottles and shakers to the upstairs guy, buy 3 stacks of racial brews, then go downstairs and buy mead and casks. It worked very well, and went quickly.

If HHP isn't the best location, it's certainly very good, and the others couldn't be THAT much better. So it's probably safe to say that you could choose HHP or any of the others mentioned as being better, and you'd be happy with any of them.

I am fond of highpass. Everything in one building, plus when you finish you can start on minotaur hero brews. You have to run to another building for the water, but everything else for them are in that same building.

I just finished making the shakers last night, I found the best bet for myself was to buy the gnomish spirits, elven wine, and dwarven ale all in Fungis then gate back to PoK and brew there.

                        Where? But in East Freeport!

I went a few days ago to Kelethin, even if I hate that city... I'm losing myself in my appartment, so imagine how horrible it is for me there! Said to myself I should give it a try... Well, had to ask my roomate and someby there too to help me find my way... I tried today HPH, lost myself in the zone trying to go to the barkeeper from HHK, when I find myself in front of it! Hurray! Until I ran out of materials, bhought some more, to find the brew barrel busy... sigh!
Bhought the liquid ingredients in triple, lost myself for 20 minutes in HPH, trying to go to HHK, to the barrel overthere, when a necro help me out (THANKS SERRAN) (My roomate was out).

So, for geographically handicaped persons as myself, East Freeport is the way, with the liquid indredients on the docks, and casks not far away

OK been looking at all the suggestions here and they all seem to be a problem for me.
HHK I am KOS cause I am a necro and never played there to get better faction.
Kelethin well on pvp server and all those elves just needed to be killed in my gnome youth.

                          Neriak - hmmm PvP server.
Freeport - just about OK but some problems.

Anything in Akanon? LOL I can get in there

Skyshrine is a good place if you have the faction. Everything in one room and there is almost never any competition for the brew barrel
