Brewing for Ogres

Hello, this is my first time to post anywhere in any EQ message board. I just like to get some suggestions on the best and least costly way for an Ogre to achieve grandmaster brewing. I know this has been asked before in this forum, so maybe people can just post a link to that thread. Thanks

Well, as an ogre, you'll need to take some things into consideration (there are too few tradeskillers who are evil so you'll get bad advice like "go brew in Halas").

Highpass is relatively easy to faction in and is a great place to brew - get faction easiest (if you are 20+ in level) by slaughtering bandits in the Karanas - about 12 hours at one camp non-stop should get you to non-kos. Then slaughter the orcs and gnolls in highpass and save the scalps to turn in for more faction - at most an additional 8 hours should do you.

You can skill up on fetid essence in PoK real easy.

Neriak isn't half bad for brewing - do the red wine quest to max out your merchant faction there.

Shadow Haven might do you well too - be sure to do the merchant faction quest for the necklace, then do the run back and forth between the bazaar and SH quest for the dwarf and the barbarian about two dozen times - that'll let you function everywhere in SH without issues.

The effort it will take you to get faction in just about any light city but Highpass will not be worth the ease in using that place for brewing, so ignore anyone who try to tell you to do so - most folks here have no clue how hard factioning can be for us darkies. :shock:

Also as an Ogre you are naturally... disadvantaged... when it comes to INT and WIS, the higher of which will control how quickly you skill up. It is without a doubt worth investing some money in a WIS kit or INT kit - which to choose depends on your class (shaman/bst obviously WIS, SK INT, WAR I dunno). Either look around here for suggestions, or just go to the baz, specify Ogre / Class / {stat} / {slot} and start buying things that look good value

Mongo been werkin' on der Brewin', and here's how me have been doing it as der ogre.

1-122 Fetid Essence (cheep an' easy!)

123-187 Shar Vahl Essence (da ground spawn be easy to gets quick, an' no faction problims)

187+ Mino Hero Brews

Yoose can get everyting fer these in Oggok! Clurg have short beer, buncha peepuls have water an' der bouncer guy next ta Dooga have da rest. Everything but da water, yoose can buy in da same room as da brew barrel.

Me only at 198 so far, an' me pretty sure Mongo gunna have ta ampootate der hand afore me done, but dis probably da cheapest an' easiest way. Me figure Kaladim Constatutionals or sumtin ta finish up the last few points, me scare dorf inta collectin' da shrooms fer me.
