Tainted Avalanche Ale

Hey gang,
I have a question about the tainted avalanche ale combo - what would my success rate be at 200 brewing (plus geerlok of course)? I already have smithing as my GM skill, so raising brewing a bit more isn't possible. Eventually I would like to spend the three AA points to max out brewing as well, but spending those points now isn't in the cards.

Well, the trivial is 248 instead of greater than 250 so you’d certainly have a chance with an effective skill of 210. However, some of the items for tainted avalanche ale are not exactly easy to get. So unless you have easy access to the ingredients I’d suggest finding someone with 250 skill, or 240 with a geerlock, to make the combine just to be on the safe side.

As Calabar says, while you would have a fair chance of success doing it yourself, given the difficulty of obtaining some of the components, you may want to give very serious consideration to finding a GM (250) brewer to assist you with this combine. At 250 +5% I have yet to fail a TAA combine, though, so it leads me to believe this, like many of the PotC quest combines, gives a good shot at success even if your skill is well below trivial. I personally wouldn't chance it though.

Personally I did a fair number of the ales at that rough skill range. I'd say your probably looking at 60-75% success rate on them. Definitely high enough to just say what the hell and do it. I found demi sec's and Mino hero brews to be the same way.
