  • PoP Brewing

I have been working for some time on various tradeskills with different alts. I had not paid much attention to the PoP recipes, with the exception of baking and tinkering which seemed very straightforward, because I belong to a small, family-oriented guild that was not in a position to do any planar exploring and because I find the planar recipes confusing, probably because of their interdependence.

Lately some of my guildies have graduated to planar groups on the first level (is that what it is called?) planes, PoI, PoN, PoJ, PoD. I need to know what to ask them to save for me for planar recipes that I might use to skill up and/or create things for sale in bazaar or for my use for my characters or as gifts.

I do have the printed out recipes for brewing, but I am not sure which of them would be useful for me to try. Also, I am mystified by the comment in several recipes showing a trivial of 212, but that you cannot attempt them until 220 or equivalent. Huh?

My brewing is at 210 right now and I have not bothered to put much emphasis on raising it since I can pretty much make the things I need. An occasional run of QAT or champage are the only skill-raising things I'm doing right now. However, I am sure there are useful high level brewing recipes out there.

It may help you tailor your advice a little to my specific situation if you know I have the following skills: pottery 232, baking 230, brewing 210, jc 200, fishing 200, tailoring 193, smithing 189, tinkering 188, fletching 174.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

The recipes that have a minimum skill of 220 but a trivial of 212 are ones whose components are store bought in PoP. They were also cheap, and the resulting essence sold back for more then the cost of the components, thus quickly nerfed. The way it works is that if you have an EFFECTIVE skill of 220 (ie 209 and geerlok) then you can do the combine. You can then gain an entire 3 skillups before it goes trivial /sigh

Other than tempers/curing agents the only new recipes were the no drop one for Aid Grimmel, and a Planar Blood Brew, also used in a quest. Since I only make tempers on request I found the PoP recipes uninteresting, but YMMV

Short answer for pop brewing drops you'll need.

      Nada, nothing, zilch, zero.

Unless you mean tempers, then you'll need various bloods etc.

They really dropped the ball on new drinkables for PoP, there are tons of drops/forages for Baking, but literally nothing for brewing.

The 212 trivial 220 skill restricted was to make it so you needed a GM or close to it brewer to make some of the pop tempers, it is a great addition in my humble opinion. So by the time you are allowed to make it, you wont fail much, they aren't really for skilling up.

P.S. It is great to see a guild exists that is 'breaking into tier 1'. My guild is so old, that a lvl 55 wizard with no flags is the newbie in the guild, hehe.
