  • Brewing hell levels?

I just got through GMing baking, and it has some real "hell levels" from around 180-200 or so, that are significantly slower than the levels before and after. I'm working on brewing now and was wondering if this is something I can expect in this skill as well...?

    Thanks

for me, it was hell from 188 to about 230. At 188 I started making MHB.

I would imagine if you did something with a trivial closer to your skill level, it wouldn't be as bad, but MHB is all store bought, so I went that route.

When my druid took brewing to 200, he didn’t really have any problems. But I just took my shaman to 248 skill and he slammed face first into two walls. From 191 to 192 took him about 180 or so combines. I thought that was painful. But now Hero Brew, which is very cheap to make, is trivial and he’s making Kaladim Constitutional for his last two points. This requires celestial essence and yarrow root, so it’s a lot more expensive. So far I’ve made 120 combines and have not seen a single skill point. I’m getting a bit frustrated to say the least. I’m going to be trying for my trophy soon and I was hoping for those last two pints first. Oh well, after almost two years of trade skills I should be used to it. *grins*

Seriously, if you’ve reached 250 in baking you won’t have any trouble with brewing. It’s a walk in the park by comparison. Yes, making Minotaur Hero's Brew is a pain in the wrist. But after making Halas Pies with sub combine after sub combine after sub combine, Hero Brews were almost fun. And I’ve not even tried making Misty Picnics. You may hit a few brick walls, but all the items you need are store bought and up to 248 they’re very cheap. And if you’re playing a good race you can make the Hero Brews in Halas where everything you need is in the same room.

      Best of luck.

I’ve never tried doing trade skills in Firona Vie. The boats are bugged more often than not and now days that leaves running to the city from the port book, past all those evil spider creatures. *shudders* When I was leveling up my ranger and my druid, long before Luclin came out, I used to have to make the run past those spiders to get to Lake of Ill Omen. It wouldn’t have been so bad but the **** things can root you. I think I developed a phobia of them. My three main characters are all level 51 now and I still can’t stand to run past them. I do it when I have to buy spells there, but I usually avoid FV if at all possible.

            I just did 0 - 248 myself.

This is with 20 wiz, 256 INT

My hell levels (minimal really, all things considered)

            188 - 189 took 55 combines

            206 - 207 took 75 combines

            208 - 209 took 44 combines

            209 - 210 took 48 combines

            227 - 228 took 50 combines

            228 - 229 took 81 combines

            242 - 243 took 47 combines

So, 81 combines between skill ups was the worst in brewing. Not bad considering my Blacksmith is 201, and has been there for 370 combines! *cries*
