  • How come there's no portable Brewing contraption?

I know this has to be a dead horse, but has there ever been an explanation given why there's no portable Brewing device?

If they said its because they're trying to be realistic with tradeskills (`scuse me while I laugh myself to death for even thinking about that), then that's crap, because there are portable stills, and you can even buy home brewing kits that are easy to haul around.

    There is.

It is quested, from Aid Grimel in PoK. Requires Bertoxx flag, 220 brewing skill, and it's 4 slots, and non collapsable.

So in other words, most of us will never see it.

I posted this question a few months ago... I honestly think it should be feedbacked.

IMHO a portable still is just as viable as a spit that you can use while swimming under frozen water in Halas.

As for it being 4 slot... every stinkin' subcombine I do would work in it. I could make my soda water on the fly...

Don't forget Heady freekin' Kiola TM.

P.S. That aid grimmel one was listed as 6 slots from what I understand, and I only saw 1 person say that it worked for other recipes (which he had heard and not done), and I never saw independant confirmation.

P.S.S. There is another portable brew cask for the Shawl quest, but it only works for the shawl combine.

Grimel portable brew thingy is 4, and Tanaan recipies do not combine in it.

Also there's the Blackburrow Cask, which is technically a portable brewing container, but the only recipe you can make in it is Blackburrow Stout.

Every watch M*A*S*H? That still was NOT easily portable. =)

I would like to see one too and there is a recipe for a tinkered one in the EQRPG GMG but doubt it works in game (the palatable mana sure didn't for anything I tried.)

First step in making most alcoholic beverages is fermentation (sure you might take a previously fermented and distilled alcohol to do more things.) Fermentation is most often done in stationary containers - a lot of agitation can ruin things or kill the wee beasties changing the sugars to alcohol as the local environment becomes wrong for them. even things that you need to keep in motion like turning wine bottles is something that is done very very gently. That said I doubt that someone could bake in a moving state except to put containers in their engine compartments, tinkers would need mobile workshops, tailors and fletchers would at least need to sit still (imagine sewing while on a horse - personally I would bleed to death), alchemy and poison making would really need a workshop too if my career as a chemical engineer is a reflection of those skills.

I would LOVE to see a tinkered recipe for a 6 slot collapsable brewing contraption.

I'd seriously pay as much as 5k for it.

To think of it logistically it would be a very delicate thing, complete with glass tubing, vials, and all sorts of your basic chem class parts.

So a 250+ combine, requiring new glass drops in PoI, that aren't entirely rare, and maybe a blue diamond or some such.

Take a look at this, it’s a portable beer brewing machine I saw once in an infomercial, hehe

Here is the recipe from the GMG:
barrel, pie tin, gears, metal twine, 2 metal shafts, and class 2 mana battery

As I mentioned above there is a recipe for palatable mana:
vial of mana (any of the five types), grapes, sugar, yeast, brewing barrel

Doubt either of them are in game - I tried some combinations for palatable mana that didn't work.

                      =======
For a chemistry lab you will need glass or quartz apparatus mostly because of inertness. For a portable still and fermenting vessel copper works well and can take a bit of a beating along the way.
