There are two ways to look at answering that question As there always are when talking about skill-up paths):
    1) Money: It's CHEAP so do it early (maybe after Fetids are trivial at 122).
    *or*
    2) Time: The closer you are to the trivial the more successes and skill-ups you will have. With that line of thought, I'd suggest waiting till about 20-25 points at most from trivial (or 162-167).

So, which one is your most valued commodity; time or money?

      Payala Fruit

I love this site by the way

There are in fact 28 ground spawning Payala Fruits in Shadeweavers Thicket, if I didn't miss any that is.

And they have a respawn rate of just over 10 min

Without SoW or any speed increase I was constatly picking up Payala fruit as I ran to each site. With SoW or such I probably could of hit them all with time to spare.

Here is a list of approximate locs, one loc for a group of trees

The most obvious loc is right near the merchants and the trees are distinctive having bright leaves compared to the other trees

neg 1284, neg 2763 7 trees in the area only 6 have Payala fruit groundspawns

neg 1506, neg 2876 1 tree on other side of merchant building from the other 7 tree, this one has PAyala fruit groundspawn

neg 364, neg 2540 4 trees within site of each other, all with Payala fruit groundspawn

neg 573, neg 1684 4 trees, 4 Payala fruit total but 1 tree has none and 1 tree has 2

neg 792, neg 909 this is in and near the Loda Kai camp, 7 trees in the area but only 5 have Payala fruit groundspawns

neg 1774, neg 33 3 trees in the area but only 1 has Payala fruit groundspawn

neg 2671, pos 117 4 trees in the area all with Payala fruit groundspawn

neg 2954, neg 725 4 trees in the area but only 3 have Payala fruit groundspawn

that accounts for all the 28 I found, there is also a group of 8 trees around neg 2096, neg 1309, but I found no groundspawns there

so if you want to save money this isn't a bad way to do it, if you have extra time after picking up all the fruit you can kill saureks for rockhopper hides and worm/lesser shades for shadeling silk and swirling shadows for tailoring/smithing

Good Luck, gonna go make some Shar Val essence now 8)

        Barooooooga!

Shar Vahl Essence is most definitely the way to reach 188 and I recommend diving in right after Fetid Essence (122). I hadn't taken the time to record locations (nice work, Tomb!) but you can actually take a convenient race track pattern around Shadeweavers, hitting most if not all of those spots.

In fact, this becomes even easier if you bring along a bag or so of water. Take a look at this map...

        http://www.eqatlas.com/luclin/shadeweaversthicketmap.html

At location 6, there is a working brew barrel towards the back of the cave. At level 65, clearing out any KOS aliens was trivial but take precautions if you are of low level. Make a circuit of the zone, picking up all the ground spawn fruit and then hit the cave to do your combines.

          Bah!

Best way to go 0 to 200 brewing is to do Fetid Essence to 122 and go straight to Mino. Cheap, easy to get ahold of for good races (Halas), and most of all, FUN!!!

And yes, I practiced what I preach. I set aside a weekend and did nothing but Mino. Find the brewer in Halas with all the ingredients and the barrel, and just go to work. No one ever said tradeskills were easy.

I have been working from 155 on Shar Val Essence. The first couple of skillups took a few stacks, but I am now up to 161 after doing about 100 combines. Not sure I have found all 28 spawns though, as I seem to get about 24 per run.

A little over a week ago, I did fetid essences from 105 to 122 and then Feydwer Shakers until 188 in less than 5 hours and 200 plat. Faster, but I bet Fundin has spent less than a tenth what I have so far.

Fishing Grubs can also be found in Cabilis East on Merchant Isle. The ONLY place you can find a flask of water in Cabilis, however, is clear over in Cabilis West from the merchant down by the shore. The other "water flasks" you find is bloodwater and will NOT work for this combine.

Also, if you are able to walk freely in Rivervale, you can make Jumjum Spiced Beer to 162. Everthing can be purchased from merchants (even the Jumjum stalks, which is also a ground spawn by the druid guild) and everything is stackable.

If anyone knows how to get the ingredients for Mino Brew without going to any town besides Cabilis, Nexus/Shadow Haven, and New Tannan, please let me know. Being an Iksar, I have... difficulties with the newbie guards in any other city. Although I have killed enough orcs in Crushbone that some of the elves of Kelethin and some of the dwarves in Kaladim at least tolerate me, if ingredients can be found there. I can sneak past the ones who don't like me.

Thank you for the location of the fishing grubs in New Tannan, I have associates who wanted to purchase the grubs but could not enter my home town.

Is there a beverage I can make that is better than just a drink (such as a flowing drink) that is cheap to make? I don't care about stats, I need longevity and ease.
