  • Qenos tea skill ups

    Greetings,

I have a question. I made my first attempts at Qeynos afternoon tea today. My skill was 189 and was using geerlock.

I prepared the ingrediants (due to lack of tea leaves, only made enough for 20 combines) and sat at the brew barrel in SH.

I succeeded on the first 16 attempts, failed 17 and got a skill raise to 90, and succeeded on last 2 attempts.

My question is, Can i expect to succeed this much (19 out of 20) and get a skill raise each time i do a stack? I know this is wishfull thinking, but though I would ask.

Thanks in advance for your comments

success rate on Qeynos Afternoon Tea

At 200 skill (capped, as I'm a GM fletcher), I am right at 90% on QAT combines, so I don't think your results are unexpected.

    Good luck in your brewing!

Can't say for certain, they were trivial for me first time I made them (was 227 at the time). However, I have noticed that the success rates on them and GLM's at 250 w/trophy are outrageously good--I have a higher failure rate on Heady Kiola and Soda than I do these two drinks.

        Yes and No.

For success, it seems in my experience some recipies have a high success rate, as standard. And some don't, for example, at 250 in Brewing I know that I can only expect to get an average of 45 to 60percent success rate when making Kaladim Constitutionals. But when I smith Shrieking Bracers, I can expect a success rate of 80 to 90percent (even at 20 odd points below its triv). I have never made QAT's, but others here have posted that seems normal, so yes.

For skillups, thats a different matter, its all down to luck on the day. The random factor of skillups, is just that random. It may take 20 attempts one day to get a skill up, the next 100 attempts. And that seems to hold true on all the Tradeskills I have worked on (Smithing Brewing Baking and Tailoring).

          QAT

At a skill of 250 I make batches of QAT at 100 combines, with the trophy. I fail on about 3 or 4 of the 100 combines. So take that as you will.

I've done a total of 21 QAT combines, got 3 skillups, and went 15/21, starting at skill 187. So a lower success rate, but I was very happy with the skillup ratio. Very small sample set, I know, but I was just using the tea leaves I happened to get while levelling up a druid in EK. I may go back for more after trying some of the other options for post-188 skillups -- I'd rather avoid MHB if I can, and dishing out for a corking device doesn't seem to make sense when for the near future I'm not going past 200...
