  • Brewing 54-68 for Newbs

Given that drake eggs are now dropping in the newbie area of The Serpents Spine (Crescent's Reach?) off of level 5 mobs, players that finish their learning Brewing quest in the city can go without stopping to 68 with Drake Egg Oil.

Seems like a pretty nice development.

Get yourself a set of the original copies of Brodder's Diaries and have fun with those.
Power leveling brewing is just silly, half the fun is in making Brodder drinks and then sharing them with yer friends.

Yeah, and as it seems alcohol tolerance cap is raised as well I suggest we all get happy and take another drink...

This also makes it a LOT easier to do Tailoring from 200-252, either Cobalt Drake or Tigeraptor armor. Should be able to farm the drake hides easier than the tigeraptor.

However, if you well and truely wish to 'powerlevel' brewing, and NOT take Brodder's most excellent suggestion to sample his brews (as I did when I was a young whiff... which is how I got my AT maxed before my Brewing), simply steep a fishing grub in a flask of water to get Fetid Essence, which trivs at 122. The Gnome outside the Shortie Bank in PoK has the fishing grubs for sale, and the human lady just between the gnome and the banker has the water flask, then you can go down the hill to the brew barrel between the arches which lead to the 'neutral side'.

Of course, then you get to miss out on all the fun of making Skunk Breath Ale, or finding an Infected Rat Liver to make some Fizzlepop, then making a gnoll-baloon by feeding it to a gnoll pup.

Oh, and never ever ever mix Fizzlepop with a Faydwer Shaker. I think it's the Mead that has an unfortunate reaction with something in the Fizzlepop which causes a violent reaction ending with you wearing them both as all the fizz in the fizzlepop erupts.

          lol

Ok, maybe you guys convinced me... I was starting with the 'powerleveling' route. I was actually just starting brewing on this toon now, as I've been playing a Warrior on Combine. I think I got the skill to 29 or so, before my laptop battery ran low and shut itself down, lol.

But perhaps I'll use a more traditional route. I've already got AT to 130 or so, just from store bought rot gut. As I'm working on that anyway, perhaps my Warrior would like a variety. I think he snarls at me with each successful Fetid Essence combine. Although, in a way it would be cool to just get to some of the more complicated recipies - but dunno, I like the journey in EQ more than the destination, I guess that's why I'm playing on combine anyway...

WTS 30 stacks of fishin' grubs -- CHEAP!!

So I'll check out thos diaries Brod - thanks

Edit: One more thing - look as I try (maybe it's cause I'm a slow Barbarian) I can't find the diary anywhere, it's on this site somewhere right? *looks behind the bar, scratching his head*

Right outside Kaladim there are some huts.
            Check the merchants there.
You will need to know Gnomish.
You know gnomes and their need to make everything a bit better.
Guess printing my recipes in gnomish was their making the recipes better.

            Wankers.

Tryin' to give an ol' barb a reason to learn gnomish, huh?

              Good! Gives me an excuse!

THe stories are humorous and worth the time and effort.
The new ones not as grand as they only had time for one set of the diaries broken up into 3-4 parts.

If you're familiar with this brewing site, you'd have seen I have several quests, brewing tinkering and cooking ideas melded into my stories.

Just not enough time and too many code changes needed.

Just like I need more sleep and fewer migraines.

No, not real familiar with anything in the world of brewing just yet - but I plan to be

By the way - I ditched the Fetid Essences, around 60 something, worked a couple small recipes and now I'm on to O'Tujim's Brew - just got to 99 last night before I had to log.

I'm hoping for at least 150+ this weekend. And I'm glad - while the fetid essence is cheap, it's much better having a huge stock of booze!

I've put a bunch of it up on my trader cheap, but I kept a good stock of it for my own use. AT is 160 now!!

Bleeding Brains ftw!!! BTW Brewing does not go up very fast when you take a drink from each successful combine

                      hmm

Alcohol Tolerance is like 246 now? I ferget

                      Brewing is 104 /ponder

/snicker - naaa, I wait till after the brewing combines to pound the kegs. But still - my Barb Warrrior Wis is slow to do the combines indeed, but again - I'm glad to be doing a fun path of progression now.

Brewing's pretty cheap for a long time anyway you look at it, may as well enjoy the process, right now - I don't need it for anything in particular - like, say a smith could put armor to use right away.. Even the lesser recipes are quite effective for skilling up AT - trust me *hic*

For anyone else wandering past this thread - if you enjoy tradeskilling - it's worth the fun to ditch the Fetid Essence route - although, I guess I could still see it, if you just need brewing to compliment your other main T-Skills. But still
